Other than "Backwater", did they have any other hits?

"We Don't exist" from that same album.

I guess Lake of Fire and Plateau are hits, but obviously Nirvana made those songs hits.

Meat Puppets were never really a "hits" band. They were more along the fIREHOSE level of 80's indie rock.

suggest to me some good me puppets songs. I have Meat Puppets II, the classic, but other than that, I'm now sure what is good. i saw them recently open for soundgarden and enjoyed it a lot, great sound. they did a cool acoustic Sloop John B. right into Lake of Fire with a long jam at the end. Pretty great to see.

Wow Firehouse. That's a name I haven't heard in a very long time.

Meat puppets have some cool tunes. Checked them out on Itunes and bought a few.

Most of the songs I found come off Meat Puppets II and "too high to die" (has Backwater on it).

Meat Puppets II has the covers Nirvana did at unplugged.

Off those two albums; I really like:
    Aurora Borealis
    we're here
    climbing
    New Gods
    the whistling song

Off "Too high to die," I liked:
    Never to be found
    station
    things
    why?
    Evil love
    comin' down

Too High To Die is a really great album. I bought it because of "Backwater" but I wore the whole album out in '94/'95.
