Entertaining Family

So some of my family is coming in to visit. My nephew is coming with his friend to see deadmau5, and my sister in law is driving him, his friend and my mother in law out here. The concert is on Thursday, so they will be here that night, will stay Friday and leave on Saturday.

Mr. RK probably won't be able to take Friday off, so I get to play tour guide.

So, what do 16 year old boys like to do? I can probably find stuff for my mother/sister in law to do with me, but I don't want to bore the boys to death (I hated being dragged around to boring things with my family at that age).
They've never been to Seattle, I'm planning on Pike Place, but then....?
Everything cool is expensive, so I'm thinking cheap and entertaining for everybody. They're from small town Montana, so anything here would probably be interesting.

The water park is too far to drive to, we have no more 'Fun Forest' (our amusement park downtown-that's what I did during the summers at that age).

I know my sister in law likes to go bar hopping and my mother in law likes the casino. :?

Thanks for any suggestions!

  • I was especially moved by visiting the house where Kurt did himself in. That park right below, signing the bench. Dont know if kids nowadays are into Kurt/Nirvana like they used to, but this was an attraction off the beaten tourist path I found especially memorable. And Jimi's gravesite.

if I dropped them off at the mall, they'd get lost-their mall has like 15 stores, our has over 200.

and if they've never been here, they don't know what there is to do here...

...should I give them a bunch of glow sticks and 'e' before I drop them off at the show?

cougar encounters cost more than I want to spend on my nephew...http://www.cougarmountainzoo.org/Educat ... nters.aspx

I'll take them to the Kangaroo farm instead...or dump them off at the mall and take the girls to the casino.

Should I hide all of my lotion then? :?

When I visited Seattle a long time ago, my wife and I enjoyed just taking the Ferry out and back in...great view of the city and really cheap.

Drop the kids off on Capitol Hill and tell them to have a good time. Just make sure they know the difference between weed and oregano. When my brother visited me up there when he was 16 he spent $100 on spices.

...and they are 'redneck' so LBGT people freak them out. Capitol Hill wouldn't be a good place. :|
My mother in law likes PJ...well, she likes: "that one song about kissing"
