In being human there are two truths we must come to face. While we are very much alike we are also very different at the same time. In terms of Maslow’s Hierarchy we all have very similar basic needs: food, shelter, safety, etc. Culturally, however, we have very different beliefs and mores. I realize we all share some common core values. Like a quantum particle we seem to be neither here nor there and also everywhere in-between. It is these truths that cause us to come together in times of tragedy and also to kill one another with ruthless efficiency. At some point in our history we must evolve. We must stop going eye for an eye; while also not turning the other cheek. I realize how odd that sentence must seem.
I do not know how we can accomplish this. I am not sure our generation is ready to change yet. My greatest fear is that we won’t until the zero hour approaches and it’s too late. I urge future generations to think with compassion and act with humility.
:: Below are two “Untitled” poems that I wrote awhile back and read again recently. They inspired me to write the former.
“Untitled”
In the rush to become we lost sight of what we are.
What we could accomplish.
Life is a super-ordinate experience;
Individually we are bound to fail.
Happiness within a neutral cosmos is achieved together.
Don’t look but smile at the sun.
“Untitled”
The danger of science, like religion, is that it will trap us within a single frame of thought. Intolerance toward the other will lead to stagnation and war. All thoughts, ideas and actions will be carried out in a strict singular fashion, so that we cannot see beyond it. Religion the anvil; science the hammer of war.

I am a nothing dreaming of something unknown.
