Obama Turns 50 Despite Republican Opposition

WASHINGTON—After months of heated negotiations and failed attempts to achieve any kind of consensus, President Obama turned 50 years old Thursday, drawing strong criticism from Republicans in Congress. "With the host of problems this country is currently facing, the fact that our president is devoting time to the human process of aging is an affront to Americans everywhere," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who advocated a provision to keep Obama 49 at least through the fall of 2013. "To move forward unilaterally and simply begin the next year of his life without bipartisan support—is that any way to lead a country?" According to White House officials, Obama attempted to work with Republicans right up until the Aug. 4 deadline, but was ultimately left with no choice except to turn a year older.

    What's the price tag on Obama wars? Besides the conflicts with guns/bombs/drones/lives. How about your communist countries investments in the USA that were downgraded? Cha ching.

    Ha. It's funny how people still blame GW. Obama fans are really digging in to their denial now that they (can't believe it took so long, but then again most people ain't too bright) know they have been duped by a TelePrompTer

    don't you know that we are revising history and blaming the wars on obama?

    i know people have a short memory, but around here people make it seem like obama was president on 9/11/01...

    FYI, using a search tool is not making you smart. You need to think for yourself and get over cutting and pasting other peoples work product. The easy way will get you nowhere. You looked nothing up.

    actually i look up and research on here and facts that i present can be verified by sources.

    you remind me a lot of george w bush. he never researched or read anything, he just knew.

    Actually, I don't just cut-and-paste articles/information from the internet on here. I also often reference books and then type the words out on here if the passage can't be found online in order to make the job easier.

    Anyway, go ahead and enlighten us as to how GW inherited Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm all ears.
