    I was enamored of all things Little House on the Prairie and was wearing overalls when I was 10, deeply involved in my collection of toy animals, Matchbox cars and Legos.

    I rocked those Laura Ingalls braids...

    That poor child. Bet she never spends a summer afternoon playing kickball with the kids in the neighborhood.

    This is a great blog post on this topic. Basically, the fashion industry is under tremendous pressure because of their overuse of sickly thin women. By using children instead, they can maintain the "ideal" form because that is just how children look. Hey, look, its a healthy child instead of an anorexic woman (and still an unattainable look you failure of a woman that is perusing our fashion mag with your fat face buried in ice cream)! This is all a sad look at our culture today. Consumers feed this by buying the magazines, spending billions on diets, forcing gender stereotypes on children and so on.
