Anyone going to the Metallica documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival. I got a ticket for the premiere. Band members and director will be doing a talk after the film.

So I got good view of Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies when they exited the stage (Metallica entered elsewhere). Setlist was decent. Heard Call of the Ktulu and Whiskey in the Jar so that was cool. As well as few songs off 72 and their normal "hits". Only played 16 songs but felt like it was more.Didn't go Friday. Was exhausted from work and my nose was running and i was coughing a lot. Plus had to work the next day. Also not a huge fan of Ice Kills Nine (or whatever they are called) and Limp Bizkit I can deal without. Metallica did however play Orion which I hadn't heard yet and would have completed hearing "Master of Puppets" album for me.

Sounds like they are still doing the same setlist from the No Repeat shows from 2 years ago.eeriepadave said:eeriepadave said:Thinking of seeing them on Sunday at the Linc in Philly.Went last night. Doesn't sound like it. They played the same things, those u mentioned were highlights for me too. The other day u didn't go I'm sure they played Orion.eeriepadave said:

Just got back from the premiere of "Metallica Saved My Life" at the Tribeca Film Festival, followed by an onstage interview with the whole band.
Can't recommend the documentary enough. It was fantastic. I don't know when it will be widely/digitally released, but if you have the chance, check it out.
May your days be long, til kingdom come.0 -
Agreed. It was so good. Their fan base reminds me of ours in terms of the ways they talked about their close community, traveling around to follow the band, and even merch collecting. They are a passionate bunch, as are we. The interview after was amazing. Our seats were really close so that was really cool as well.We All Believe said:Just got back from the premiere of "Metallica Saved My Life" at the Tribeca Film Festival, followed by an onstage interview with the whole band.
