Thanks Ryan, if I don't win tickets on MMR this weekend, I will definitely check out a viewing at the Franklin.

    Appreciate the info. 8-)

No problem! I may have a Troc ticket for sale if it's true the film will be available On Demand Tuesday.

Got the VIP upgrade as well but now thinking I may just go to the Franklin Institute showings.

No VIP here and actually didn't even try for Troc tickets (didn't feel like standing for the movie). So Mo and I will be hitting up the Institute as well. Any idea what day you're thinking about??

The Troc will have seats for the movie. They always do.

  • Hey everyone,

The Troc is a great venue to check out a band (the sound can be a little lacking at times, but I still love it), but I'd suggest getting there on time for a film screening. I've been to sold out film screenings before and if you're a little late you may have difficulty finding a seat. I'd suggest getting there a little early, checking out a bit of Chinatown if you want a bite to eat and then get there when the doors open. You have two options for seating, you can head to the balcony which has sort of bleacher seating of around 5-10 rows or you can try the floor which should have folding chairs for seats. Your best bet is to head for the balcony and prepare to sit cozy next to a stranger. If you're late and the seats on the floor and the balcony are filled you may have to stand in the balcony which sucks because if you stand you usually can't see or you can sit in the aisles of the bleacher seating.
There are two bars open on film screening nights. Usually there's one on the floor and there's always a bar in the balcony. If you missed your chance for seating on the main floor or balcony you can probably head into the balcony bar and see if they're showing the film on their TVs as well. Good luck everyone!

It's playing at The Franklin Institute for like 10 days starting on the 23rd I think. That's where I'll be seeing it.

I was thinking about The Fieldhouse for a beer before the 10pm showing. It's on Filbert between 11th and 12th (about 2 blocks from the Troc).

  • Well I didn't win tickets for the Troc so I just went and ordered a couple for the Franklin Inst. on Saturday. Better for me anyway, going on a Saturday instead of a work night.

Enjoy everyone, but don't spoil it for me.

Like I don't know the story already. :D

can someone confirm that the doors open at 7 and the movie is at 8? this is what I think, but how can they have a 10:00 showing if the first movie is not over yet?

Oops, can't make it, tomorrow night is the Dancing With the Stars results show, my night is booked, nah not really I just don't have a ticket, I knew I should have bought one when they went on sale. I was just focused all summer on PJ20 this summer and promised my friends "ok, enough with Pearl Jam once I go to the weekend concert". But they will soon learn, as I now understand, I just can't get enough of this band :D

Thanks for the headsup. What time do you recommend getting there if doors are at 7??
