I've been on this Nirvana kick as of late and came across an article about the song Polly. I had no idea the song was about a 14 girl that was kidnaped and tortured & raped. I did some searching on the story and came across a couple of different stories. I found it interesting thought I would share.

"This is about the actual kidnapping of a 14 year old girl. In 1987, she was returning from a concert in Tacoma, Washington when she was abducted by a man named Gerald Friend. He took her back to his mobile home and raped her. The girl, whose name was not released, was tortured with a whip, a razor, and a blowtorch. She managed to escape when Friend took her for a ride and stopped for gas. He was arrested and sent to jail."

yea its funny that people dont know that, because Polly was acceptable to be played over radio stations and live performances and stuff, but when Rape Me came out there was a big deal about it because of the word "rape".
Polly is so much more graphic, and true.

Rape me was more towards the music industry from what I've been reading.

Polly is one of my favourite Nirvana songs. I knew about the story. It is a haunting song.

im always on a nirvana kick. i'd heard what the song was about, but had never read the full story. wow...wont listen to that one the same again. i've always loved the "amazes me the will of instict line", but now it hits even harder.
