    meh, pretty weak lineup IMO... and I'm not much of a festival goer (rather pay to see the band I wanna see up close and personal)! But have fun and be safe

    Due to budgetary constraints, I will not be attending.

    I'll be checking out the webcast, though. I guess it's better than nothing...

    I'm sitting this year's out (been to 3 out of the last 4), but as the time approaches I'm a little sad I'm not going - 3 days of music out in the sun, lying in the grass, I've had some good times in the past - its the closest I get to a vacation. I'll definitely be catching some of the webcasts.

    Watched the stream all weekend. I have to say that I was really impressed with Cold Play as I am not that big of a fan. I thought they played really well.

    So for those that went, how did you survive the monsoon? :shock:
    I swear I was wading in a giant mud puddle for the last 3 hours of the festival...I've never seen so much mud. It rained on and off all evening, poured like crazy for the first 30 minutes of Foo Fighters. My legs were covered in mud by the time I left. Other people were covered head to toe. It was nuts!

    I watched the FF feed and the monsoon simultaneously from my Balcony downtown... counting my lucky stars I wasn't in that mess!

    I heard there were TONS of gate crashers this year... it's only a matter of time before the City shuts down this event, and I won't be bummed one bit about it!

    Isnt 2007 when they pushed ACL back to October to avoid the weather/heat/dust? Also, havent they moved it up to September AGAIN?

    I guess i am at that age (actually I have always had this feeling), that if I want to see a band I enjoy (i.e. PJ), I will pay to have a reserved seat in a respectable venue, not some open field. Festivals have become a dime a dozen!

    it was pushed back in 2008 or 2009...
    they base it off of the UT football schedule b/c there's no way that the Austin hotels could accommodate ACL fans & UT football fans. so, it always falls on a bye week or when the team is the visitor.

    i hear what you're saying about festivals, but ACL really is different. it's hard to explain..it just is.

    @mfc I had a friend (from Chicago) say the same thing to me yesterday... she said she'd never do Lolla again after this weekend, but wouldnt hesitate to go to ACL annually... maybe if PJ makes it back that way :o :?

    yeah, i've heard that from a lot of people. when we move to the NW next summer, we'll definitely be coming back for ACL.
