The girlfriend and I are staying Thursday and Friday, but we rented an RV and on Sat. and Sun. we are staying much closer to the venue at a private site.

Only bad thing about the State Park is no alcohol, but that just means you have to be smart and respectful (drink in tent or RV, or pour it in a solid cup/glass.) Park looks cool, walking distance to downtown Lake Geneva along the lakefront path. Has its own beach as well. Should be fun.

I've stayed at a bunch of state parks within WI, never knew that some had a no alcohol policy.

I think he's mistaken. The email I got after bookin the sites said in big bold letters, alcohol permitted. Party on!

I've never been there, but the DNR website shows they don't allow alcohol at this park.

Sorry brother, no alcohol is allowed at that particular park. It's on the website and I spoke with the manager. Also, google the park and read some reviews, apparently the rangers are a bit fanatical about it. As I said, you just have to be careful about it.

Yeah, I saw that thread, definitely sounds like a great time. We have somewhere to stay already by the venue for Sat/Sun, otherwise I would do this in a heartbeat. Have fun!

thats an awesome park! Had lots of family fun there when the kids were tiny.

Any park we've been in that says no alcohol you must just be discreet and not draw attention
with loud music or by being rowdy or unsafe like too big of a campfire or not properly extinguishing.

Drink from a plastic cup and nothing visible.
These good rules anyways even if they do allow drinking cause it is respectful to other campers,
most especially those with little ones.
