Always thought that Sheryl Crow & Eddie would sound pretty good together. If she could make Kid Rock sound half decent then a song with Ed would be a masterpiece in the making

This is a really great thread with some really horrible suggestions (tho i like the Gord Downie pick). Jack White might work, or not. I'm a fan but two rights can still make a wrong.
My thoughts:
Ian McKaye. If you've heard his 2 Evens albums, you know he's nowhere near the hardcore "sound" at the moment, but he's still writing great tunes. Ed's always been a huge fan. I'd love to hear something sort of down tempo, with Ed and Ian on vox, Ian on guitar, and the rest of the band.
They definitely could use a female duet. hmmm........
how 'bout PJ Harvey (longshot) Fiona Apple (this would be killer!!!) or Feist?
yum.
hmm, also i could definitely go for Ted Leo or some more Neil Finn!! Um completely random thoughts that could be cool, Ed singing with Band of Horses (would be a great pick for an opener on next tour!!) or, in the spirit of Neil Young's guitar being the coolest addition to PJ ever, Nick McCabe from the Verve dropping huge echo guitar bombs all over Rearviewmirror. That sounds like something i won't hear til i'm dead, but glad i came up with the idea!!
And last, and in complete serious, the one perfect collaborator i would like to hear a whole bunch of new music made with:
 Man oh man. If we werent frenz alreddie, you need to consider us frenz NOW. I cant even exxxpress here how much that just freakin.....oh my god. I dont know why or how or.....the minute i feasted my eyes on that video just now, i got massive full body chills and i just started crying. Do you KNOW how many times I have said it is a dream of mine to see BOTH Masters on the same stage together??!!!! I cant even stop crying. I feel like a girl!!!! U dont understand!!!! That was just absolutely perfect. One of the best gifts I have ever received. I want to say thank you but......its not enough. Whatever you need, if I can ever help.....you find me. You have made a friend for life. Im not even kidding right now. oh man.

Ed said he would like to make some music with Beck once (after the ATP performance)
I would LOVE to see that happen
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”
Jonathan Davis on backing vocals on some track would sound cool, imo. i always get stick when i mention him/Korn, but if youve heard the Korn unplugged album u mite see what im getting at.
Seriously, imagine Eddie singing songs like "White Room", "Tales of Brave Ulysses". That would be something.

I love Les but I don't think his style fits with Pearl Jam. I said before I think Eddie would nail Gloria by Van Morrisan. Along withn several others of his. I also would love to see A traveling show. Somethindg like the train ride off the Dead and friends back inthe 60's. Pearl jam, Primus, Jack white with a band Rage, and some others. Later Yostarama

I think it would be awesome if PJ and Coheed and Cambria got together to record a few tracks. I know that sounds insane but i think it would be fun!
WHAT??
I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

I think George Jones would be fucking cool, however, he is getting too old but I think his words are still powerfull.
CCR would be cool too.
fuck Im old
ps. Ben Harper would be shaweeet also. I know they have played together but I dont think they ever wrote anything together

I agree with whoever said Chris Cornell. I'd live a Temple II album of some kind.
Beyond that, Eddie was such a cool addition to the Heartbreakers on "The Waiting" that I'd love to hear more of the band playing along with Petty and the boys.
Ani Difranco comes to mind as someone who is on par with the band lyrically and I think they could find some common ground.
I suggest you step out on your porch...run away my son...see it all...oh see the world // I wait on the porch...hoping someday I'll be let in
