...i gotta say it was really well done, although i didn't like how they glossed over some things like the drummer story (they never got into why Dave A. was fired - unlike the Foo Fighters documentary where all the relevant parties got to have their say).
    ...

Yep, I feel the same. I couldn't help compare it to the Foos in that regard as well and Dave's honesty in dealing with the Foos own drummer issues was humbling.

Still, a perhaps minro quibble, and maybe something cover in the FOUR HOURS of bonus material to be included in the DVD (so says the doc's producer in response to a question about the lack of Boom).

    It was great.

i'm pretty sure the whole thing was left out to "protect" dave ... based on the interviews and comments from the band - they only left out stuff to protect other artists ...

Saw it today. Really a fun movie. They did a Q and A at the end and before the first question Eddie walked in to a standing ovation. All he was doing was stopping to thank some of the people working on the film.

I caught the Ryerson showing on the 12th - a totally spur of the moment thing. I am so glad I went down to get a ticket, because the film is a really moving experience. I was especially hit by the Andy Wood footage. The Singles party footage was extremely funny, worth the hype from the above-quoted Reuters article. Without getting into additional detail, so as to not spoil it for others, I think that the film is a well-crafted tribute to the band we all love.

I took this very quick shot when Ed came up during the post-film Q&A. Standing next to him are the two film editors who went through over 2,000 of footage while making the film. Lucky bastards:

P.S.: I thought the drummer bit was amusing, actually.

Another highlight was the people next to me in line, one was a lawyer from Westchester with his wife and another was a big Canadians fan from Ontario from a family full of Leaf fans. Not sure if they post here though but it was interesting killing time with them.

I feel like such an idiot! I left the doc on Monday right away because I had a meeting at work and on top of that my Dad and I thought they weren't going to come. WOW, regret fills my soul that I didn't get to see Eddie. Thumbs DOWN.

I saw them at the screening on Saturday but my seats for the Monday screening were WAY closer. Ryerson Theatre is much smaller than the Princess of Wales. I will get over it one day, I guess...I really didn't have a choice. It was nice that my work even LET me go for my lunch. Including lining up etc. that's about a 3 hr lunch.

Quick question but did anyone see any PJ20 merchandise @ the TIFF? The only thing I seen was the big book that had only one page of PJ20 and that was it. The book was 50 bucks?

I have two tickets to the showing at the megalplex in Innaloo (perth, WA) for tomorrow night.

Damn work commitments mean I can't go. The tickets are for the vmax theatre (so better audio and video quality) and there are only 5 single tickets left for the showing.

Half price to a good home.

It's like global Pearl Jam love. I'm getting the warm fuzzies just thinking about seeing the movie within the same 24 hours as oodles of other fans all over the world.

    Kindof cool, eh?

PJ 10 in Las Vegas was memorable. Posters were available until they were sold out. With the crew on Mike's side, above the stage, with the Happy Birthday folks.

Sorry to miss PJ20 live. Will have to see them in Greece next year. Hope they go to the islands.

Will be in Hartford CT tomorrow for the film. I bet there will be a line.
