Anyone from the Detroit area check out this show? What a concert...69 years old played for over 2 1/2 hours, his main set was longer than most bands entire show.

The band he has with him sound really great. Live and Let Die, Yesterday and Get Back were my definite highlights.

I got the $39 ticket, in the 300 section...so the wife and I saw him for less than 100...would have easily paid way more. Hard to believe he's 69 and played for over 21/2 hours. It was an absolutely an amazing show.

Anybody have any input on what the merch table has to offer for these shows? Anything that's specific to the venue/city maybe?

Going next Monday and need to know how much extra $ to bring. 8-)

They had an event specific T as well as general tour T's...$40 and up for T's, no event specific poster though...general tour poster...$10, program...$30 and other merchandise.

I thought merchandise was pricey and T's in specific seemed small and of poor quality...so I passed.

  • Caught one of his Citi Field opening shows in '09, and was at night 1 at Yankee Stadium 2 weeks ago. My girlfriend and I took our parents to the show (was a miracle I was able to get 6 tickets all together thanks to the presale!), and when he played "I Will" I proposed to her and she's now my fiance. She was the only one who had no clue out of the 6 of us that I planned on doing this, and it was a really great moment to share with our parents in the midst of an amazing show by a living legend, so needless to say a night we'll never forget. Was about to do it during "Maybe I'm Amazed," but I took a chance because I wanted to hold out for a Beatles song and not a Wings one, so glad I waited!!

Paul puts on a better show at 69 than most acts do in their prime, we'll continue to see him in concert as long as he keeps playing :D

Love your review. Congrats to you and your fiance.

Just one little mistake in your review. "Maybe I'm Amazed" is a Paul solo song, not a Wings song. It's on his first solo album, McCartney.

That's awesome...so glad you got to propose during the song you wanted...congrates to you and your fiancé.

Have to agree Paul putting on a better show...we saw U2 at the start of the 360 tour and my wife and I both agreed that at Comerica that night Paul was way better than any of the 2 times she saw U2 and the 4 times I saw U2...from the stage setup, the sound, the song selection, the littles stories that took the crowd back in time and extremely impressed with the length at 69...I said to my wife after 2 hours if the concert was over now i'd be happy, he played for another 50 minutes. I'll be back to see him...likely next year. Something tells me he'll still be packing them in at 80.
