Funk/Groove bands?

I'm after some new music, I have listened to a lot of instrumental jazz fusion rock type stuff for example Dennis Chambers as he is one of the greatest.

I want to expand my horizons and go for more funky/groove jam type bands, ideally if there were any groups with some good drummers then that's a major plus!

For anyone who has seen Primus that's what I'm after, they do a lot of friggin sweet jammin live too. But I'm down for bands comprised of other instruments such as B3s/Organs etc than the usual rock type set up.

Thanks for any help

Check out the John Butler Trio, they're a great funk rock band from Perth, Australia and have supported Dave Matthews Band in the US. Sunrise over Sea is their best known work but Grand National probably fits the bill better of what your after if you want funk.
