What her mum had to say a while back.......
"She said: 'I've known for a long time that my daughter has problems. But seeing it on screen rammed it home. I realise my daughter could be dead within the year. We're watching her kill herself, slowly.

'I've already come to terms with her dead. I've steeled myself to ask her what ground she wants to be buried in, which cemetery. Because the drugs will get her if she stays on this road.

'I look at Heath Ledger and Britney. She's on their path. It's like watching a car crash - this person throwing all these gifts away.'

Why do genius and internal struggle seem to be so closely related?

Tabloid fodder here that will take the real serious news off the front page. No sympathy here anyone who wants to lead their life like & now she will immortalised with the like of Hendrix, Buckley & co because of her age.

I highly doubt that 40 years from now people will be looking back and thinking about the great contribution Amy Winehouse has made to the evolution of music.

That said, it is always sad when someone loses their life over something so dumb. I do not have sympathy for her (from my limited perspective), seeing she made the choice to live this way, but I do not find any joy in the news of her death.

I am not a fan of the general populous' need to place the importance of this over what happened yesterday in Norway, though.

I shared a train carriage with her once. She had the biggest hair in the Milky Way.

    Poor girl.

Not disputing the fact that the others made greater contributions to music, but if someone posts about someone dieing due to drug use, and then compares them negatively to Hendrix, come on?

And completely agree on number 2.
