Ed or Eddie?

I know that his band mates call him Ed and it would seem like he would prefer this name as it is more adult than Eddie. However, the solo tour is being promoted as Eddie Vedder...... I guess Eddie probably will sell more tickets than Ed. Thoughts?

    well people know him as "eddie vedder" which explains the tour promotion thing.

    it does seem like the rest of the band refers to him as ed while he refers to himself as eddie. maybe it's just like when you have a friend and you shorten their name, even if it's already shortened.

    Didn't that iPhone story say that when he called Jill's lost phone the caller ID said "Eddie?" So that must be it. Eddie. Mystery solved.

    Or better yet, you can listen to the new boots and hear him introduce himself as "I'm Eddie Vedder".

    He also calls himself Ed Ved.... But it's like anything or anyone, diiferent people call you different things. From Merideth I get Mert, Mer, Mertsy, Dirtsy, Agatha, Bubb, Mertie, Dirty Merty.... And more... ;)

    And when my niece was learning to talk, I tried to teach her to say the names of all the musicians on my walls (I was about 15)... The only one she said was "Eddie Veddie" and she wouldn't stop saying that one, lol!
