Tire Dilema

So I've got to make a decision on replacing tires

Here's what I've got:

I had an irrepairable flat tire about 3 years ago so one of the tires is mismatched all the others match.

Front Tires - One has about 3-4 years (the mismatched one), the other has probably 6-9 months left of tread.

Rear Tires- Need replacement

Do I get 2 new tires, resulting in 3 types of mismatched tires?

Do I get 4 new tires, wasting the utility of the usable tread?

Going on a 3200 mile roadtrip in Aug and don't want to risk any blowouts.

do all 4, keep the one decent tire as a back up or sell it on craigslist.

Do all four and keep the one good one as a spare. You don't want a blowout and what could happen as a result of that.

Yah does your car not have a spare tire? What condition is it in? If it's shit get 4 and use the newest one as the spare, if the spare is unused, get 3 and use the unused spare as the forth, then keep the newer front one as the spare.

But you have a 3 year old tire and you say it's got about 4 more years of tread? I've never had a tire last 7 years.

3400 miles is a longways on crap rubber. get yourself new tires. use the best used one as a spare. change the oil before the trip and take extra oil with. change belts if needed. make sure you bring lots of tunes

you've not met my gf. her tires, in theory, could last 10 years and still have thread left.

bite the bullet and replace them all with good quality tires....

you don't want a blowout when traveling at 70 miles per hour...

    I agree with the others...

    get 4 new tires

buy a cheap rim ($50-or go to a Pic-n-Pull/Fitz to get one for $10)

put newest tire on the rim and use as a spare in the trunk-esp if your gonna drive that far.
