Take it easy Pandora, I did notice that he has big feet.
 good one... funny I noticeed that too ;)
Pandora, thanks for the wake up call. My wife just chastized me for picking on Ed's height as Ed would not appreciate it. I think I only mentioned it as a sidebar to his importance and creativity as you mentioned above. It was just a noticeable contrast after years of idolization but I assure you after meeting him my level of idolization has only been increased.

I can understand that and to be in his presence makes all the love real, I'm sure.
I know being up close at a concert more than took my breath away and was a spiritual moment for me,
one I will keep with me forever.

So very glad you got to meet him and can cherish that memory :D

When The Who played Seattle, I had "traveling" friends who hung out in the hotel bar with band members and entourage, and Eddie was there too. My friends viewed him as just another fan, and they pretty much left him alone. However, knowing how much I liked PJ, my friends called my house in Denver about 1 a.m. with the idea Eddie would say hi to me. My son answered the phone and said he didn't think I wanted to be awakened. :o

A few days later they saw him again outside the venue for Roger Waters and they joked that he was stalking them!

FYI Roger Daltrey (Whom I've met) is about 5' 6" too.

How the hell does such power come from such a small package. Amazing.

That's what she said. :lol::lol::lol:

How tall would you say he is? I heard 5'5" and a max 5'6".

If you search google this is the result:

Best guess for Eddie Vedder Height is 5' 7"
That is a interneting thought.:lol: Here's another one. My wife is 5'4", she thinks that Eddie is about the same height as her. I think it was really really close but no cigar. I do hope the truth is revealed one day.

+10,000 and then some. Eddie definitely is judged for those exact reasons right there.Plus his drive, his achievements"environmentalist of the year" , the donations to org. you know have affected and changed so many peoples lives  . He is a inspiration to so many people and is truly loved by so many. I hope one day he gets the recognition he genuinely deserves. :D:D

Absolutely amazing, Wow three times. I know how much $$ I had to shell out for my one experience so I know what an investment this all had to be for you. Don't get me wrong now that my three back surgeries are behind me now and my wife's surgeries are done. We'll definitely be saving our monies through the years to try and have this experience again. We are going to the PJ20 concert but I highly doubt their will be a meet and greet at that venue :lol: . Well I hope the Rock Gods continue to smile upon you in the future. :D
Thanks! :D You too! Actually, there wasn't so much extra expense involved (as I recall tickets for benefit were only $25) as perseverence. Regards!
Well it sounds like money well spent ;) . We live in AZ. and the last time Pearl Jam came here was around 8 years ago  . Eddie said he had had a slight case of heat stroke  . It was amazing that he stayed and performed :D . Although due to how he was feeling many of the great finale encores were skipped  . Songs like Yellow L., Crazy Mary, Rockin ITFW. We don't think they will be traveling back here anytime soon so where ever they tour we will most likely have some major travel expenses but well worth every penny spent. Hope you have a great day. :D

Ed (and the band) has been good to me, but really, some of the people I've met through the shows... I wouldn't trade even one of those good times I've had with them for them band laughs.

Amen. I had an extra ticket to 1998 LA Forum show on the Yield tour so I posted it (face value) and a guy from New Jersey emailed me that he wanted it as he was coming out for a few West Coast shows. I called him to work out the details and we talked for over 2 hours. We didn't have time to mail money and tickets so we met up at the San Diego show and carpooled back to Vegas (my town) for that show and then back to the LA show.
Next thing I know the guy is moving out to San Diego and we talk on the phone and visit each other on a regular basis. Too Cool!

My wife and I have had about a 50/50 :? overall experience with the people we have communicated with through the Ten Club. This year there have been quite a few Jer*ks posting comments on our virgin threads. Meaning we're just recently getting comfortable with the way this site works. I do have to say that just lately the convos have been pretty cool and diversive. Their seems to be some extremely intelligent and down to earth people who pop in and out of this site. You'd think with the great taste in music and similar ideals this would be a great place to meet people. Well we're hoping for the best with that since our standards and morals are up their compared to normal people  I don't know. nevermind

• Yes!! My fiance and I were so extremely lucky to meet him after the Oakland show almost two weeks ago!! It was unbelieveable... surreal but he is so freaking real!! He was listening to what everyone was saying being so attentive and smiling!! I mean, he's a gorgeous human being!! I just wish I would have remembered to tell him that I will be walking down the aisle to The Long Road. I hope I get to meet him again!! :-)

Normal = Conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. 2 Serving to establish a standard. I just wanted to add what normal means to me.:lol: Pretty idiotic Huh :lol:

I would say 5'6. Now I am only 5'9 but not only was Ed short but small in stature, almost petite. I know I could take him.
Actually.. I have seen him fight and it's pretty crazy. the dude is quick and can take a punch!!!Also, he's really good at accidentally throwing a person through a wall height plate glass window!!! LMAO We didn't even know he was there til the fight broke out..That was ONE crazy night let me tell ya.. and sadly it was the fourth to the last Pearl jam show ( earlier that night) I'd get to see for the next 11 1/2 years..If you ever get to go to the French Quarter lounge in NO, look at the right hand corner of the bar slip, there's still a chip in it from where a chair got thrown across the room that night. P.S. ALLLLLLLL of us went to jail, even Ed, but he got be kept by himself..And yes he IS little!!
Sorry: side note here.. the last time I got to go to N.O. was pre-Katrina..but if they haven't remodeled that bar, the chip should still be there.. I know because I almost got hit by the chair that was thrown.. lol

Hey there everybody, I found a really cool link on you tube 8-) . I'm not sure how to post the link. So go to You tube and type in Eddie Vedder meet and greet the wiltern 2011. My wife and I met him after the concert the venue before this one :P :P . The experience was amazing :D . This video brought back the memories. For anyone who has done this or for people who have always imagined how it would be. This is definitely worth checking out. :D:D Does anybody have a memory of this tour they would like to share. :D Hope you enjoy this.

On that video 0:29-0:35, you can see how he makes a peace sign then he first points out towards a person (me -not in video) then points back to his chest and mouths "that's me". He saw my OGTG shirt and laughed then he acknowledged it saying "that's me"! That right there made my night! :D

Ha! Two things:
1. I always loved this story and it supported what I always thought and believed.
2. I always thought he must have been pretty jacked up dude against his size. From what we know/hear through the fan community and personal stories, you can tell he's one of those people who should NOT be aggravated :D

Well, thank you so much for sharing!

I've never met him, but I had a similar experience with him pointing out my t-shirt. I was lucky enough to have front row for the first night when they played Newfoundland in 2005 and I was wearing a Free The West Memphis 3 t-shirt that they sold during the Boston shows the year before. At the end of the show Ed pointed at my shirt, did a fist bump to his chest and gave me a peace sign. Front row would have been good enough. That experience with Ed was awesome!

Damn it!!!! I have to get me a cool shirt to wear to concerts. These PJ shirts aren't cutting it.

Seriously, these are awsome experiences. I had the orange "Old West" PJ shirt on right up front and I think he was checking it out for a sec. ;)

It's in the French Quarter hotel if I remember right..It was a HUGE building with green trim accented in gold leaf, with gargantuan Windows that are like 8 feet or so high, and around 4-5 feet wide per pane and they surround one whole of the lower half of the building.. there's a cafe/grill on one side and a bar on the other,, the bar has all the windows..

Really I was super wasted that night.. and all I can remember specifically was that it was the oldest Hotel on the square. But those windows.. I would be able to find it in a heartbeat on sight.. I will look it up and tell you..

ok after much investigation..( now remember that alot has been changed since 1994, especially after Katrina), but The Inn on Bourbon Hotel seems to be the one..That's the only one I could find that had the windows and was a historic building there..which is the two things I remember.. we only picked that hotel bar cause my cousin lived right down the street from it..
