Low Back chairs should be fine. As far as throwing chairs mayeb they should start checking ID's at the gate to make sure entrants are ADULTS.

From Shoreline Amp rules as a reference guide, I know the show is in WI.... lol

    General Rules:
All shows go on RAIN OR SHINE.

Low Back Beach Chairs are permitted
NO smoking in the seated or lawn areas, but is permitted in the plaza areas only.
Soft sided coolers may be brought in to events if "6-pack" size or smaller.
    Blankets allowed for most shows.

The Following items are also NOT allowed:
CANS, BOTTLES, CAMERAS, ALCOHOL, VIDEO EQUIPMENT, FIREWORKS, SKATEBOARDS,
FRISBEES, PETS, AEROSOL CANS, PROFESSIONAL CAMERAS W/DETACHABLE LENSES, TAPE RECORDERS, COOKING EQUIPMENT.

***ITEMS SUBJECT TO CHANGE ON EVENT BY EVENT BASIS***
Please check Shoreline website on day of show for most recent information www.Shorelineamp.com

If it says Beach Chairs (not lawn chairs) are OK. I was wondering if the pitch of the lawn would make them practical. I wish someone would chime in on this who has Alpine Valley experience.

IMO, the risk that someone would take someone else's beach chair and throw it is pretty minimal. People in the 10C section will be more mature than that.

There is a bigger risk of 10C members trying to hold spots for non-10C members and then others feeling entitled to push through also. Essentially though, I think once people get established in the lawn it should be civil, including beach chairs. If an interloper comes along during PJ's set, everyone around them should just tell them to keep moving. But it's not going to be a mosh pit, people will be focused on the show. That is why people took the trouble to get there.

It appears they rent lawn chairs at the venue. This is from the employee web site:

    Merchandise
The Merchandise department consists of the rental of lawn chairs, limos/oversized vehicle parking sales, and VIP/Premium parking sales during events at Alpine Valley Music Theatre. We are looking for motivated people willing to be on their feet for sometimes long hours. Rate: $8.75/hour
