Who's on the cover of Into the Wild??

I know this may seem like a dumb question, but who is on the cover of Into the Wild? I've heard it was Ed himself, but I always thought it was the guy that played in the movie . . . . please don't bash me for my stupidity - I've been a HUGE PJ fan since their birth, but I've just now gotten into the Message Pit. Any help fellow PJ fans???

    Good question. I never saw the movie but was always told that it was a clip from the movie. The cd booklet says that its Ed though.

    It is Ed. It has been discussed a couple of times. Look close and you should clearly be able to see his face. Pic is a few years old. Hair is obviously much different. See here for a further discussion of the nature of the pose: http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=297991

    Sorry guys . . . I DID mean the back - my bad. I forgot the front has emile on top of the bus. So, yeah, who's doin the pose on the 'back' of the album? I thought it looked a lot like Ed, but he kinda favored the guy from the movie, too - so I figured I'd ask fellow fans. Thanks guys for all of your help.

    It's Ed...Emile Hirsch did not do that pose in the movie. He sat on some rocks and read a book, but he did not do the Quasimoto surf pose.

    I think the photo of Ed was originally taken during the riot act promo stuff...

    THANK YOU! i've had that picture in my room for years before the movie came out. it's one of the main reasons why i got the silhouette zippo instead of the EV one, because i've always loved that picture and it meant a lot to me. a lot of people assume it isnt ed or that whoever it is did it for the movie, but it absolutely is ed and is a picture from way before the movie came out.

    Actually, no, I'm not into tits - I've got my own pair, why do I want to see someone elses? Though, if it was Ed nude on it, I'm sure I wouldn't get it mixed up. LOL (Any ladies get a good mental pic?) ;)
