It is brand new in the U.S. so I am still trying to get the hang of it.

Some on the songs seem to "skip" as if they were from a defective cd. Is this common?

Used it for ages over here in the UK, it is pretty damn cool. Not sure I know what you mean about the skipping, occasionaly if my pc is being slow or my internet cuts out there might be a blip in the sound for a second or so.

For example, when I was playing some Replacements songs, there were blips in every song, but now that I am listening, to Wall of Voodoo, there are no problems.

Yeah, I was having problems earlier today with some of the streaming tracks. Haven't tried in a few hours though.

On the whole, the service is really good. I find myself going down a rabbit hole with all the related artists and adding songs to playlists.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

It's really like having a huge itunes virtual library in my mind. Unlike some of the streaming radio sites, you can pick and choose the songs you want to listen to, create and share playlists, etc. Or even collaborate on playlists. Free w/ ads (but you have to have an invite) and after 6 months I think you only get to stream 10 hours a month. Although, after a few days I've already cancelled my emusic subscription and am going to sign up for the premium version of spotify. The premium lets you download a set number of tracks for offline listening too.

Actually, just read this. He puts it pretty well (and he's a good music read across the board).

Looks like he (Bob Lefsetz) had some spotify codes to give away, not sure if there are any left:

If you get on, my spotify user name is in my sig. I'm curious to see how the social (shared playlist) features work.

Thanks Merkin! defintely sounds pretty cool. I'm pretty happy with Pandora. I usually exceed my listening time each month and end up paying $0.99 for unlimited but I still have the occational ads which dont really bother me as they're pretty minimal. I'll have to check this out.

Ok, this shit is fuckin awesome. Finally got my invite and I'm downloaded and ready to rock. Anybody that's been using this already give a few pointers? When you search for an artist, is there a way to 'star' all or do you have to click one at a time? Is there a real difference between your library and what you have starred? Also, do you have to have a premium membership to send invites?
    Thanks!

I don't really like it. I would rather use my Itunes and if I don't have the music I would use Grooveshark.

really???? well it's pretty much just like itunes but completely free. I guess the big thing is not being able to convert to an ipod or CDs. But to simply use on the computer I think it's fantastic.

I've been using it a lot over the last week or so. I really like it. Sometimes the ads really get on my nerves though. I'll be rocking an album and then after a song ends it plays a commercial for another song and ruins my groove haha. I wish I didn't have to pay the $10 a month for the premium so that I could use it on my phone as well. But, I wouldn't use it enough to make it worth that much.

But then you have to either pay for stuff from iTunes or import your own music into it. So much easier to just click and play something.

Yea, that was my point...you dont have to pay for songs or waste time uploading music you already have.
