that jeff quote comparing the new album to a souffle makes me think it might be something more mature and ecclectic too (like a yield/RA hybrid would be) ... or maybe im just looking into it too much and he meant it takes a long time without interruption...

  • Can't comment much on the titles yet, but I say let the news roll on in!
  • Hope this one has good album art. The stock image/clip art thing they did with both Binaural and especially the self titled album didn't really convey the personality of those great albums very well IMO.

Legitimate or not, this goes to show that we are in fact getting closer to a release with rumors/speculation.

That's wierd. Eddie Vedder on vocals and guitar?!
  • In the Time of Man sounds like it should a 9 minute long epic, a la Novermber Rain.

That's definitely what I'm looking for in the next Pearl Jam record. I love epic songs. And come on, let's get some CD's that are in the 70 minute range. At 50 minutes, I feel somewhat unsatisfied.

I hope release date is more like summer than autumn.
What will Ed's voice sound like on Cigarette song?

I agree, I'm hoping for an album more in the 70 minute range, with about 13-14 songs. A few bigger epic numbers would be great too. I freakin love Brendan O'Brien; however, I have to say that some of the rock albums he's made over the past 5 years have been a little on the short side. I know he's all about "less is more" and tightness, but I'd like to hear the band just let loose, fuck normal arrangements and just rock out on some of the tracks like the old days. That being said, it would be cool to hear another mature sounding album like Yield. I guess I really don't know what I want, I'm just glad there is finally some speculation and news floating around...

I'm hoping for even just a little of an ITW sound on some of the new album. And like others mentioned a more mature sound kind of like Yield. Either way.....I will be happy to hear what they come out with...when they decide to release it........Im more excited about the possiblity of seeing the Band for the first time as I have only had one night with Eddie at Massey Hall.....and a tour seems to be cpming at some time soon.
