Anyone want to speculate? Lots of solo stuff abounds. 13 random dates and no album talk of any kind. No ...What's really going on here? Green River? Ed Solo? Band gone? Hiatus?

I think we are only 4 months into 08 and a 13 date tour sounds pretty good to me.

I would say abosolutely nothing is wrong.

Ed solo was a quick little number on both recording and touring wise.
Green River is a one day thing.

I think they're already got some new tracks ready for us in June. OK, not "some" maybe two or three new tunes.

This band ain't goin' no where!

Wtf? How is this a slower year than 2007 or 2004?

A solo Eddie tour with 13 dates. And a 13 date US tour.

No new releases yet or anything but it's only April... New Stone record before the end of the year at least hopefully. :)

This is not a Slow Year! A PJ Tour, Ed solo tour, Green River reunion, Stone solo album, plus hopefully a Brad tour and album- 08 is going to be a great year!

It is most likely that the band is in the studio as we speak (they have been one month ago and could be there in the may month aswell), we might hear some new stuff on that 13-date tour (don't expect it, but who knows :) )

They probably finish the record after the summer so they can release it late 2008/early 2009.

Brad has finished their fourth disc and Stone is working on a new solo disc, but Pearl Jam always comes first.

The band is always going somewhere doing something, they just don't communicate everything to the media. I only wish we had a new rumourpit with some Q&A.......

whats next people crying about the number 13
    being too scary.

I think 13 dates a year in the us would be great. As for the album they have announced a producer allready, I think usually on an album year they get together and rehearse for like 2 weeks before they write, I think this time they choose to play out, alas Ed prob wanted to send a clear measage after his solo gigs that the band was foremost in great shape after his solo tour. Usually they hide out before an album.
Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.

I think most artists crank them out when their young and easily pushed around by record labels and things are really fresh, between '02 and '06, LDs and RVM were released (necessary to end a contract), plus they changed labels. I do think they will be on a consistant 2.5 to 3.5 year in between albums for many reasons.

    are you nuts?

there are tour dates, Mike has said that they you never know what can happen when asked about playing seattle this year. Ed has said that they are recording on one of his solo dates.

in 07 they had 2 dates, which was really 1 with a fan club show.

    come on man...
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I am happy with what they are doing.
They could have taken the summer off to write songs. But they are going out on the road.

and who knows what vedder has up his sleeve for the fall? Maybe nothing, but maybe something BIG.

Since most of them have pretty new additions to their family, and they haven't let up the past few years.... it makes pretty good sense to me.
  • One thing puzzles me and it's not this supposed inactivity of the band. The website doesn't appear to be updated very often anymore. I found out about the tour by chance, through Facebook. Forgive me if I am being blind and stupid, but it wasn't put up on the news page was it? Does anyone else find that odd?
  • WildsWilds Posts: 4,329
There was a tweet on the message board. Then I got a 10C email and the tour was put up in the news section.

Pretty sure this is how it went down.
  • Aha, then my self-assessment was correct. I only ever check the news page and that still has an announcement from Dec 2007 as the latest piece of info. I should check these things more thoroughly in future. I think I shall crawl back into my cave now...

If two Ed solo shows, not to mention a trip to Seattle and Vancouver,a trip to Flight to Mars this coming weekend, thirteen Pearl Jam concerts in 20 days in June, and a trip to see Green River in July is the slowest PJ year in six years, I'm loving slow!!
