It's been 6 years, but it's still a good album in all respects. I remember going to the Tower on Sunset (West Hollywood) for the midnight release.

I fucking LOVE Riot Act. I'll admit, it took me a few months to get into it, but now I listen to it more than any other PJ studio release.

6 years ago I didn't even know who Pearl Jam was. Ahh, how I've changed. :)

Damn good album though. Way underrated in my opinion.

It is such a shame it closed down. I loved that place so much when I was a kid. Then last year me and few friends took the train down to Hollywood to look at cds, but it was gone. That was a sad day in my life. :(

I remember the Sunset Tower. Not only did I go there any time I was in L.A. , but I also went to a Black Sabbath signing there. I miss that store. They should have kept that one open.

There was one in San Diego my buddy would always go to and it was sweet because it was open till midnight and we would just troll around there till it was closing time.

    Happy B-day Riot Act!!

In my not so humble opinion, that album has some of their strongest song writing to date...definitely of this millenium.

Happy Bday Riot Act. This cd has gotten as many spins as any other PJ album, from me. It has made its way to the bottom of the favorites list, but man........ Does every one of those songs rip, live, or what?

Can't Keep is the only song off the album I haven't heard live. The rest I can say kick total ass.

wow 6 years already! I can remember buying the album day it came out (maybe even on my lunch break?) and listening to it... my now-wife and I were long distance at the time and I wasn't sure I was going to be that into the album before it came out. She called me that night and said "If you don't like this album, I'm breaking up with you." :)

As an album, 6 years later, I think it's okay, but there are definitely some individual very-worthy songs that make up the whole album.

I was working retail at the time and we would get the new cds in a week or so in advance, so I grabbed one about a week early.

Really didn't like too much of it for a long time. Only in the past couple years have I really listened to it a great deal from start to finish. Not my favorite album but it certainly doesn't deserve all the negativity it gets.
I am lost, I'm no guide. But I'm by your side...

Speaking of signings, in 03 I was able to get an autograph from the late Johnny Ramone.

    Respect Knuckles!

I have been listening to it at least once-a-day since I got it on vinyl. Ghost, Help Help, All Or None, and 1/2 Full are my favorites by far. Least favorite is still Thumbing My Way but it is kicking my ass and making me miss my daughter.

    Happy belated birthday, Riot Act!

Ya know, this album is much better than alot of people give it credit for. Songs like Can't Keep, LBC, Help Help, Ghost, and Cropduster, which aren't necessarily "typical" PJ songs, are fantastic musically and lyrically. Took me awhile, but I've definitely come around to appreciate this album. Happy B'day Riot Act!
