This song could have been on any of their last three albums. I now have 0% interest in the new album.

This song does absolutely nothing for me. Don't think I'll be buying this album.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

Cool! I actually like it. Great rhythm! The new guy doesn't sound like he's trying to be JF.

I liked it. Was just listening to some older Chili Peps last night with a friend of mine who is a big fan. Can't wait to see these guys live!

I'm a huge Chili Peppers fan as well and after all the anticipation, my initial reaction was meh. Of course, for the amount of times the lead single gets overplayed before an album comes out, I usually end up liking that song a lot less i.e. "Dani California"
Looking forward to the hearing the whole album.

I'm listening to it now. I like it. Typical Flea funky bass line. Guitar sounds surprisingly good. I'll be buying the album.

I would have to agree with the rest. Upon first listen, it's good, but nothing spectacular.

I thought the guitar was exactly as good as I expected, which is to say, it's not. I think they'd be better served to stay away from anything too guitar-centric.

I know I'm in the minority but I'd rather them steer clear of anything too funky. I don't really care for their preBSSM stuff and I think the funkier stuff they do now just doesn't measure up to the tunes with the layered Hendrix-y/Beatles-y style of production.

That song is boring. If that's what they pick for the lead single from the album then I don't have too much hope for the rest of it.

mixed feelings. can definitely tell that frusciante is not playing...
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

Just heard it on the radio and I'm starting to come around to it and like it more, especially since I won a pair of tickets this morning to their benefit show next month at Club Nokia!!! So excited!

That's funk rock at its best! I like it! Of course, I'm buying their new stuff and the previous album (I don't have a copy of this ;) )!
