Is this post-worthy because of carmaker or union or what?

I saw plant and I was thinking something that mattered like a nuke.

People drink at work all the time.

They showed this on the local news in L.A., and it was one of the top stories.

That second-rate field reporter was just so damn proud of himself for "breaking" the story.

This does unfortunately happen a lot. We shouldn't be so blasé about it, but it's also not this news worthy. I'm at a small company and we've had a few incidents of folks coming inebriated. Once, a guy snapped off his key in the bathroom door and couldn't figure out why nobody could help him open the door with his key. He was alcoholic, and we tried to (successfully for a time, but ultimately unfortunately unsuccessfully) to get him help.

Another time a guy went into hr to complain about his paycheck clearly drunk. As the top executive in the building at that moment, I was actually called in to witness the discussion. Needless to say the guy didn't need to worry about any more paychecks from us.

It's a problem, but it's filler on a slow news day to me. Why not do a 60 Minutes style report to uncover pen stealing in the office?
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

    1. Relax.
    2. I simply asked a question. If you think this is something rare you're kidding yourself. Terrible yes but that doesn't make it newsworthy.
