Sad day for New York radio

Last day for WRXP as we know it. Hopefully the rock format will end up on another station. :cry:

    Guess I'm old school. I have it on all day at work. WXRP really had the best mix of Pearl Jam I've ever heard on a major radio station.

    I miss radio. I used to have it on all the time but couldn't find a good radio station in NYC so I gave up.

    I recently discovered internet radio! Haven't found a favourite station but maybe that might help smooth over the loss

    Same goes for Q101 in Chicago. Ends today.

    Really sad. I only listen to it once in a while these days, but during high school this was my church. I vividly remember waking up the day that they were going to debut "Who You Are."

    sadly we lost KUFO 101.1 in Portland several months back. they replaced it with talk radio (barf). no other station has appeared with the same format and there are no others. one is tooooooo classic, one is toooooo pop and the alternative station doesnt play enough pj, and tooo much techno. sighhhhhh. so i feel for you. haven't found a good internet station. the one i had changed their formant to more "funk" and "pop". i use pandora when i can, and when i put in PJ songs, they now automatically give me a great mix with foo fighters, soundgarden...etc
    all is as it will be, as it should be

    YES!! When my only other real rock radio choice plays PJ, you can bet it's gonna be Black, Daughter, or YL. RXP would play Light Years, Dissident or In Hiding.... And you stood an excellent chance of hearing PJ any given day during the 90's at Noon. :D Gonna miss it.
