part 2 was really amazing.. the eric clapton stories were cool... footage from the 1975 tour. But i thought the stories and footage from his personal life (home, family etc) was the most rewarding part of the documentary.

    Fantastic news George fans!! :D

Martin Scorsese’s GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD, which premiered on HBO last October, makes its home video debut in North America. Universal Music Enterprises is pleased to announce that it will be releasing the film on May 1, 2012, in three editions: 2-DVD set, Blu-ray, and a Deluxe Edition box set that will include the DVD, Blu-ray, special packaging and a 96-page book of photography to accompany the film, plus the exclusive 10-track CD EARLY TAKES Volume 1, featuring previously unreleased music from George Harrison.

    This part from Facebook:
Also available May 1 is the companion music "Early Takes Volume 1," which was previously only available inside the Living in the Material World deluxe box set. "Early Takes" will be released on CD and 180-gram vinyl, and includes 10 rare, early takes and demos.

I don't care how much this is going to cost, I'm getting the Deluxe set and CD and vinyl.

Fantastic news. Not sure yet if I will spring for the deluxe edition or not. Just interested in the bluray and the vinyl. Don't need a DVD version of it also.

Just pre-ordered the Bluray and vinyl for $35. The deluxe box set is over $70 and it includes the CD, DVD, and Bluray plus a 96 page book. Couldn't justify it. Can't believe the vinyl is cheaper than the CD.

I wonder if the 96 page book is the same one that was released around the same time the movie premiered?

I'd imagine that it is...which means I'm springing for the individual blu-ray and CD purchases...comes out cheaper. Before my daughter was born three months ago, I probably would've sprung for the deluxe box, but now I can't justify spending more just for fancy packaging. Especially since later that month, McCartney's RAM is getting the deluxe treatment...and I do just have to spring for the deluxe edition on that one!

    FINALLY!!!!!

    Can't wait!

On a sadder note, I had 5th row tickets to see Ravi Shankar in Cleveland at the State Theater this Friday and was called over the weekend by Playhouse Square and told the show was cancelled. I'm a little concerned, being that Ravi is about to turn 92, and he was also scheduled to play a concert in Calif. last week that was also cancelled. Hope he's not ill.

Just saw this on a blog from the organizers of the Cleveland festival at which Ravi was to perform:

    "Ravi Shankar program cancelled

The Aradhana Committee is sorry to announce the Pandit Ravi Shankar concert on April 6th has been cancelled.

Ravi Shankar has taken ill and cannot travel at this time. Our prayers and wishes are with him and his family and we hope he has a speedy recovery and can soon grace our festival with his presence."

Let's all hope and pray that this is nothing serious and Ravi gets well soon.

Wow, hope he feels better. My dad and I were watching the George movie again and were wondering if he was still alive.

Well, to my surprise I recieved the Bluray and vinyl an day early via Amazon's prime shipping. Listening to the vinyl now. Sounds absolutely amazing. Sounds like George is here playing in front of me. So crisp and clear for some early demos. Probably will watch part 1 of the movie tonight.
