Hey everyone, so I'm up for an upgrade at the end of the month and I was wondering what's a better phone to go for, one with android, windows, or a blackberry? It seems like all or most of the Android phones have "Android 2.2 (Froyo)", I'm not too tech savvy so I have no clue what that means. I just know the phone I have now needs replacing lol. Thanks

froyo is just a generation name of android. they name each version of a sweet treat. the most recent version for phones is actually gingerbread, but it's only on a handful of devices.

i have the EVO (Sprint w/ Android). love it, other than the one time it crashed.

IMO, a 4g phone is the only way to go if you live in a 4g market, which rules out basically everything that isn't android. 3g is decent, but it drives me nuts waiting on stuff to load when i have to go that route.

some people love the iphone, and it seems like a nice enough phone, but i do like my android. they say the windows 7 software is solid, but i've not used that, nor have i used blackberry.

do some reading on each device and compare what the device does to what you need.

the big thing right now is also dual core. mmmm, dual core

if you are coming from a dumb phone, it's a life changer

It's not exactly a dumb phone. I have the Samsung Delve, which U.S. Cellular dubs a smartphone (requiring a data phone) but there's really nothing smart about it lol

In my opinion you get a phone running Android,Windows Mobile is stable but you most pay for almost anything you want to put extra on it and Microsoft sucks in getting updates for it,i got a Htc hd2 last year with Windows on it and they stopped the market for it since windows 7 for mobile has come out,so its useless since then.I have taken Windows of and get Android on it and i works so smooth and the App market is big and lot of apps are free and everyday they make it bigger and they work and support all the time..
I love the Htc phones,my next one will be the Evo 3d thats works on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread,if it was working on Windows a would have skipped it and got a iphone..I have had a lot of phones in my live with various running programs but Android is by far the best for smartphones in my opinion..

    Good luck with your choice..
