    like i said ... corporatization of gov't ... all the programs are designed so that companies can milk taxpayers ... whether it be rum, welfare or bombs - it's the same motivation ...

    Why do people want to give more money to an entity that has proven itself over and over again to irresponsibly spend it.

    I guess my question would be does this serve a greater purpose than Fox bothered to mention?

    Are they maybe trying to keep the economies of those countries from collapsing, possibly leading to another Castro on our doorstep? Are they trying to keep good relations with these countries so they don't open unfriendly ports or.. something?

    On the surface, yes... it's an absurd idea.

    But I remember hearing some Tea Bagger whining about money going to study "some beetle" and how it "shoots venom." Kept going on about how it was the government wasting money. Except that study he was talking about could lead to creating a fuel injector that could potentially quadruple gas efficiency. There's usually a "reason" for something that expensive. And Fox news, I'm sure, knows it... they just forgot to mention it.

    well in time such as these we have to squash the beetle and worrie about our economy first..then when our economy recovers we can study beetles and fuel injection and help the rum soaked country's but untill then
    this country needs to worry about #1 first and stop printing money to give away.
