5 Eddie Shows in 7 days

Still coming down from the final show of what turned out to be a personal run of five Eddie Vedder shows in seven days. That’s 11+ hours of live Vedder, totaling 147 songs (57 of them unique, since he played a different setlist every night). During the course of the shows he played electric and acoustic guitar, ukulele, mandolin, pump organ, and even banjo (not to mention looping himself on Arc and singing and play completely unplugged, with no mics or amplification, a couple times with Glen). I got to see him play with Glen Hansard, Mike McCready, John Densmore, and multiple string quartets. I heard him play ukulele songs, Into the Wild songs, Pearl Jam songs, and songs by The Who, Pink Floyd, Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Bruce Springsteen, Nine Inch Nails, Bob Marley, Daniel Johnston, James Taylor, and of course “Uncle” Neil Young, among others. I heard him tell story after story after story about his life and career and friends and experiences as a rock star and as a man, never repeating the same story twice. I saw him hold five completely different crowds awestruck for over two hours every night by playing five completely different shows.
There were some who questioned why anybody would need to see Eddie any more than one night. I'm so glad I did all five. Every show was unique, and each one stands out separately in my mind. What a beautiful week it was.

i would have loved to been at the two NY shows and Philly ...
This is the reason to do multiple shows. People I work with always ask why I see the PJ/EV over and over again, before I explain about the different setlists.
