    this was the best station. played local, unsigned bands, played songs in their entirety, even if it was a 9 minute YES song, one of the djs was a huge pj fan, and it only played good music. it was the best radio station since k rock went mainstream. it's a sad day in the music world :(

    Sorry for the loss, NYers... it always sucks losing a good station, especially a good commercial station.

    From reading the NY Radio message board, i think it will become some kind of FM News station to compete with WCBS and WINS.

    although i'm a sirius/xm guy, i really enjoyed this station. it was cool watching them "grow up." i remember the jazz station that used to be on 101.9 and then i tuned into that station one day only to hear rock coming from the speakers.

    see that's such a good idea that i completely forgot about that free fm nonsense. If there's any consolation, it seems WRXP will stream the format online.

    But where else am going to hear State of Love and Trust on NY radio. Q-104 I'm looking in your direction.
