Metallica is on my must see live list...what changed me about AC/DC was the live show...saw them in '85 or so and on the last tour and the 2 shows haven't changed much other than different songs...but not much longer than 90 minutes...that was real turn off.

But.....
I'll go with Metallica. Seen them live 3 or 4 times and always had a great time.
Saw AC/DC a few/couple years ago. Was good, but think Metallica was better live for me.
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Metallica for me.
Live - AC/DC (Angus Young is a fuckin maniac)
Metallica totally blew it for me at Bonnaroo. "Who loves you? Who loves you? Metallica loves you." if that wasnt some of the cheesiest shit...music was good though
Now, for now particular reason, I'll just point out that I personally feel that Metallica's albums from the 80's are their work. By far. Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets, and even ...And Justice For All are fantastic metal records.
Touching on g under p's point, if it were between Metallica and Megadeth, I might have to take Megadeth.

9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 2
I'll take Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lighting over those two records any day....for my tastes anyway.

I just think those 2 ACDC albums are perfect for what they do. Alotta different grooves and takes on their formula. I even thought pretty hard about Dirty Deeds.
I think there's at least a few songs on every Metallica album I'd get rid of, except may Mop, which I think is their absolute peak. Never been blown away by Anesthesia or any of their instrumentals for that matter. For Whom the Bell Tolls is a good enough song, but it's on the wrong album to me.
I agree with most of the above, esp John Bush. For me, Sound of White Noise shat all over the Black album. Sound was the best metal album to come out in the early 90's. Never really been into their earlier stuff though.
Metallica finished for me at the Black Album - Ride and Master are my 2 favs of theirs. haven't heard any New Slayer after Divine Intervention- Love Seasons and Reign in Blood though - and Decade of Aggression is a great live album. Never been into Megadeth though. Don't mind Bon Scott era AC/DC, though they only have a few good songs on each album for me.

They're my second fav. band of all time, seen them god nows how many times, and are never dissapointing live,
even if there live shows can be a bit repetative these days they still fucking play it hard live,
one time 1991 at donington monsters of rock festival ac/dc were headlining with metallica playing before them, i was up the front for metallica, and you could early move, and the atmosphere was amazing, when metallica finished the space up the front of the field half emptied and lots of people saying they were the real headliners.
not to take anything away from ac/dc i love there music too, and they are great live, but they've got to realize they have an amazing back catalog, but they just seem to play the same shit, and that is why the last time they toured, i didn't even consider wanting to go see them.
and i agree with some people, it should've been
metallica or megadeth,
or i think even
ac/dc or iron maiden
i'm going to see iron maiden next thur. with airbourne supporting, so its almost ac/dc supporting maiden
