  • Now with all this said. It seems to me is this was a just to make a buck deal. I hate to say but I am very very sad that PJ has sold out to even us.

it was not PJ's call. Sony is reissuing them, not the band.

Wow I did not know that. I bewilders me that they can produce some really high end gear but then they can give two shits to how their Lp's sound. See the new speakers that got reviewed in this months Sterophile. They also have the best SACD hands down. Which I am in the market for since most classical is released on SACD still.

I recently started buying LP´s. I must add, I have a cheap $100 Audiotechnica turntable that I bought this year. My amp and speakers are far better, though. They are 30 years old and sound like new.

Now, I am not willing to buy the original pressing for vs or vitalogy. I am not wealthy enough! So I got the re-issues.

They sound great to me. I compared them to my old cds. And the difference is infinite. At 60% volume my remastered LP´s sound loud and crisp. It was like listening to them for the first time. At 45% volume my cds sound loud and almost unlistenable. Saturated, or compressed, what have you. The difference is clear.

Now, if you consider buying the original pressings, new, for 200 bucks. Then go ahead.

Exactly my thoughts. I do agree that all these bands that are doing these rereleases are pretty much just doing it to turn a buck but it's a great way for me to get the albums at a decent price. No, I don't have the original Vs. and Vitalogy to compare to, but I really like listening to the new ones.
