Unannounced bands we could see at PJ20.
The one band I definitely see being added to the list is Death Cab. Their tour ends a few weeks before PJ20 and they are from Seattle...I think.
I can see Soundgarden playing and then Temple of The Dog making an appearance during PJ's set. and for some reason I could see Mumford and Sons there.
Any other ideas?

the only thing i really see is maybe chris cornell popping up to do a temple of the dog song and that's it.PJ: 9/29/04, 5/12/06, 5/13/06, 6/22/08, 6/24/08, 6/25/08, 6/27/08, 6/30/08, 10/30/09, 10/31/09, 5/18/10, 5/20/10, 5/21/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 10/18/13, 8/7/16

Soundgarden. Pearl Jam and TOTD. I guess we all want to see Matt Cameron's arms fall off.0

i agree. it would be awesome. completely awesome. but people are expecting like neil young and bruce springsteen and things like that! i wouldn't hold my breath on them making any special appearances. now if chris came out for hunger strike (or maybe say hello 2 heaven... oh my.) then i'd be a happy camperMikee J wrote:washedinblack91 wrote:the only thing i really see is maybe chris cornell popping up to do a temple of the dog song and that's it.

I heard Hunger Strike today on the radio and it struck me that while it's not the anthem "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is, it might be the most historically notable song of the grunge era. It was Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron on the cusp of their best work and eventual stardom and the Pearl Jam guys shaking hands with the listeners who would soon fall in love with them... all the while sealing the tomb on Andy Wood, Mother Love Bone, and the whole hair band grandiose that Andy and the rockers of the late 80s enjoyed so much.washedinblack91 wrote:the only thing i really see is maybe chris cornell popping up to do a temple of the dog song and that's it.
What's more, the entire record evokes a more Alice in Chains sensibility than SG or PJ - a variety of musical styles and different arrangements centered around a theme close to the hearts of the performers (death and drugs were the hallmarks of any Alice in Chains record).
It's a brilliant album, but that song alone should immediately transport us back to the early 90s. I can't wait to see Chris emerge from backstage to help celebrate PJ20 and play this song!Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.0 -

Ph yes... nice.
Whats the chances of Jerry Cantrell making a guest appearance too?"My body's nobody's body but mine"0 -
I also don't see any more full bands being added. There will be special guests, though, you can count on that. I'd put money on Chris Cornell and Jack Irons at least...Download the unofficial Pearl Jam Stat Tracker app for iPhone/iPad. It's FREE.

I really want Neil and Pete. If Dave G and the Boss could be added it would be a dream like The Last Waltz.0

I agree that special appearances would be cool but I am just so starved for Pearl Jam live again, that's all I need. Just knowing that it's special for them is all I need. Bruce or Neil would obviously be cool but I see it more as 90's kind of celebration and agree with the people that mentioned Cornell or Cantrell.0

Maybe Pete Townshend should drop by and help out on Baba O'Riley cover.
In love with music0 -
I agree... don't think anymore groups added but the chances of special guests showing up is pretty good... BTW, Matt Cameron basically said that having Soundgarden and PJ on the same bill would be hard for him... I can see his point

I'm not going but i wouldn't be surprised if Dave Grohl made and apperance with Queens of the Stone Age and maybe a apperance with PJ. Could be wrong though.

What if...Matt Cameron played with Soundgarden for Night 1, then Jack, the Daves, and Other Matt played for PJ??? Then Matt Cameron could come back and play for PJ all of Night 2. It would really be a look back at twenty years of PJ.
Obviously a pipe dream, but it's cool to think about!YNWA0 -

I agree. There's one stage, and right now, 12 performers aside from PJ. The Strokes, QOTSA and Mudhoney will all likely be given around an hour (just a guess...), which means if they start the shows each day at noon and PJ goes on around, say, 9pm, then there are 6 hours to get 9 performers through. That's not included set-up/take-down time. Barring either a much earlier show start or a much later than usual PJ start time, or some unforeseen lineup change (one band only playing one day or cancelling etc), I don't see how they could accommodate another full band. Quite frankly, its pretty full as it is.
I could definitely see some special guests however; in fact, I'm betting that there will be some special guests on PJ songs throughout the weekend. But I wouldn't bet there will be a full set or anything. I just don't see how it would be workable.1998-06-30 Minneapolis

Wasn't it stated somewhere that there will be side stages at the back of the lawn for the early acts?YNWA0 -
yes the smaller acts will be playing on 2 side stages at the top of the lawn. 1 stage will be acoustic stage, 1 stage will be plugged in stage.Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
