After hearing a lot of live versions, I have to say that the studio version is way better than live versions,

Dont know why, but for me theres no comparission between the studio version and the live version...maybe because the riffs that mike plays at the chorus in the studio version(wich I reaaaaally love) he sometimes doesnt play it in the live version

i also think the album version is my favorite.
But the alternative intro is great. (the one you can hear on IIC).
The first time I heard it, it was during the Berlin 1996 show.

Live versions are better musically, Mike's crescendo-ing does not come through on album.

I'll take Live. 1st show I seen Immortality was the best song played. 8-23-98

Ditto!, so bluesy sounding. Self polution radio 95 had a bad ass version of Corduroy as well.

Also have to say Benaroya Hall- That was a sick version too. :D

Personally I like the studio version better also. Seether does a great cover of it on their live acoustic CD/DVD. Worth checking out.

everything on self pollution radio was sensational

adelaide 1 2006 had a great immortality, with new intro and a sensational solo with each note mike plays feeling like a slow burning fire

While I love the studio version, I think Matt has brought this song to even another level live. Plus, I like how Mike mixes up the solo in it live.

One of my favorite versions is from the Crocodile Cafe show in 1998.

Never heard that one. I don't think that's true at all.

I almost always like live versions better- the interaction with the crowd brings another dimension to the music. Needless to say- I love the way PJ supplies my live recording jones.
