 You keep throwing out this drivel, and yet you provide no substance what so ever. Tell you what, go on to google and research what the man has done, challenge yourself.

That way you may prove yourself right - yippeeeee. Or, you may prove yourself wrong - God forbid. What ever the outcome, why not at least try that first.

obama agreed that he will cut medicare, medicaid, and social security yesterday. he is nothing but a republican.

he has lost my support. he will not get a fucking dime from me come election time. and if claire mccaskill sides with him she gets no vote and no money from me either. i worked to get these two elected, but i am not wasting any more fucking time or money on them if this is how they are going to operate...

he is single handedly allowing the new deal to be destroyed. why put this all on the backs of the elderly, the infirmed, the mentally retarded, the disabled, and those that can not help themselves?

we need a significant primary challenge for him in the next election cycle. maybe someone like kucinich. many people feel that a primary challenge is counterproductive. but at this point he needs a challenge, if for nothing else than to make him keep his promises and stick to his guns instead of rolling over like a helpless newborn...

right now i think he believes that he can beat anyone the gop throws at him because he will say "who are the african americans going to vote for? who are the progressives going to vote for? who are the poor and disabled going to vote for? certainly not the gop..."

i'll tell you this mr. president, you can not count on us for automatic support anymore. not after this.

he is not an idiot. he is a fucking sellout. he is a political whore doing what he thinks he has to do to win votes from disenfranchised conservatives, which we all know would never happen in a billion years. all this at the risk of losing his base. stupid stupid stupid move mr president...

this is not about 2012 or his chances in 2012, it is about right NOW..

Just saying people tend to over-hype everything "best ever", "worst ever", no matter what the topic is. Impossible to label a president as "worst ever" until history has had a chance to judge him - until time has had a chance be affected by his policies, etc.

Personally, I think he is somewhere in the middle of the pack.

Oh, sorry, I was off on Hayes. I meant Buchanan. Mental fart on my part. My bad.

Yeah, I know. It sucks. I don't support it. But that is small potatoes compared to the expense we have incurred and the things we have done in Iraq.

Not sure what you want. I already said I don't support the action in Libya. But it is apples & oranges to Iraq.

Unlike others I can support a person or a party and not agree on 100% of the things they do, nor do I disagree with 100% of the ideas the Republicans have. I think that is the biggest problem with this country. I think a lot of people get brainwashed into thinking words like "the left", "liberal", "conservative", etc. are bad words and that somehow if you believe in one of those philosophies then you must hate the other side. I think sensationalist talk radio has a lot to do with it. Whatever happened to being in the middle?

yes, cutting medicare is cutting health insurance for the elderly >65, disabled, sick, mentally retarded, etc.

cutting social security is cutting income and financial assistance from those same people.

cutting medicaid is cutting health insurance for the poor, who can not afford to pay rent, let alone buy expensive ass health insurance policies...

i think cutting these programs that have been american institutions since fdr is just a dick move, especially in light that so many corporations pay $0 in taxes. why punish these people for the unfortunate situation they are in?

You have to put on the uniform to play the game.
One thing liberals have to understand is that this will never be a liberal country. We already have "social programs"--yes, SS, medicare, etc. are socialist in nature--and those on the left should be happy about that. And, as should have been expected, those on the Right have waged a campaign to dismantle or privatize these institutions. So, the fight wages on.

Concerning Obama "caving" or being a disappointment, what did you expect? Every democratic president that takes office will have to move to the center. Plain and simple (see my second statement).
The republicans simply refuse to compromise in any way, as was evident in December on the Bush tax cuts; all we can do is sit and ask, "Where is the trickle down?"

(Unfortunately) I spend at least 3 hours a day reading about this shit (npr, the nation, weekly standard, time, cnn, truthout, commondreams, town hall) and watching the news (PBS, BBC only), and what I have gathered is that the Right would rather see Obama fail than have this country succeed. Look at the states that rejected federal stimulus money for infrastructure projects, hi-speed rails--all Republican governors. So, they would rather play politics than put their people to work. very nice. Obama has tried. The stimulus was not big enough. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/58006.html; http://ourfuture.org/blog-entry/2010093 ... killed-rec
Go ahead, call me out for my opinion, and shout at me form your plastic pedestal that you bought at Wal-Mart for $12. (And, that was likely mass produced in China; it must be, because everyone has one these days).

It is impossible for us to put ourselves in his position, but we would not only cave under such conditions of obstructionism. The propaganda campaign began on 11/6/2008: (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/ ... guest.html) and it has not relented.
Considering this, I think he has done a pretty good job at getting some things passed that the Left would be happy with. So, we need to keep quiet and ask ourselves what we can do.
    A few suggestions to start:
    1. When shopping, avoid Wal-Mart: 70% of the crap in WM is made in China. So, from now on look at the tags before you buy and make sure what you purchase is MADE IN THE USA.
    2. Forget chains and support family businesses.
    3. Go green. Support a new, American industry
    4. Help each other out. Don't be a gluttonous, selfish pig. Save that for CEOS and Wall St.
    5. EDUCATE YOURSELVES.
    6. Get off your ass and do something. Make your voice heard. This country is incredibly apathetic and lazy. It makes me physically ill. Seriously.
(contribution form VINNY GOOMBA) 7. Help those in need whenever and however you can.

That's all for now. Rant over.

Everyone realizes this "debt" deal is bullshit, right? It's just been political grandstanding that we all new was going to go on until the last minute, right? Does anyone seriously believe that somehow, according to "studies", the government will cut spending back by $2.1 trillion over ten years?

Fuck ten years. Let's start with significant cuts next year.

Let's all accept the honest truth. The debt ceiling has been raised. In two months, this whole episode will be forgotten by the public and out of control spending will continue. Bamboozlement.

^ Right here. Well said. It's time to realize that every day we vote with our wallets and our decisions to take action or not to take action. People need to stop relying on the legislative process when it is proven time and time again that even the most well-intentioned laws still find ways to benefit certain groups of people at the expense of others.

I would add more number to that list: 7. Help those in need whenever and however you can.
