maybe not better, but just as good no doubt. I haven't been too psyched about their latest covers ("Arms Aloft" and "Public Image"? yuk...) ... great call DavidHamilton!

  • Thanks! I was listening to the album "Meddle" on the way to work........I heard it in my head as if PJ was playing it.....sounded perfect.....But the "Walk With Me" cover at Bridgeschool was AMAZING!!!! Heres to Uncle Neil showing up at PJ20!!!!

Yeah, every now and then I'll hear a song and can't help but think "PJ would totally do an amazing cover of that..." One recently, and this is a bit of a weird pick, was David Bowie's "Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed". Maybe they could pair it up with "Wash" ;)

When the next tour hits supporting the new album, I will be a fan of 0 to 1 cover per night tops.

I would vote for One of These Days from Meddle. I feel like Fearless is too smooth and mellow for PJ.

Fearless is my #1 fav Floyd tune. Would love to hear a good cover of it sometime. I know i won't ever hear Waters and Gilmore do it might as well Be PJ

Never got into Floyd. Sacrilegious I know but it all sounded like stoner stuff to me.

Arms Aloft has really grown on me. I was like eh the first couple times but now I like it.

Ultimately that's my feeling too. Don't like when they do 3 or more covers per show. Even 2 is bothering me lately. They're not a cover band! And every time they play a cover, it's an original we don't get, and I think we're all more into Pearl Jam's original music, no?

Wow, just fans being fans here man.....any band can cover any other band's song without claiming they're better than the covered band. I don't think anyone's seriously suggesting Pearl Jam are better than Pink Floyd or vice versa...that's comparing avocados or oranges, isn't it?

It's still in the holster. It will come out eventually. It's amazing how I change back and all of a sudden anger builds.

I saw David Gilmour play this in its entirety a few years ago - that definitely goes down as the most incredible live song I've EVER heard!

right, I get that, but it's one fan's opinion about a cover version that doesn't even exist! I hate when people are called out for their OPINIONS on this board/forum. The OP said he "thinks" they can make a better version than the original...not "PEARL JAM is BETTER than PINK FLOYD!!" Anyway..............

I have a different opinion and I stated it. It is my opinion that the song is flawless and shouldn't be touched. It is my opinion that if you think Pearl Jam can make it sound better than the original, then, well, I think I should keep this opinion to myself.

    I'd love to hear this.

I'm not a big Pink Floyd fan, but one of my favorite bands Ambulance LTD covered "Fearless." It's a great song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZYFhJSeqSg
