Those of you who still consider these a viable source for news source must really be freaking out.

So are all these news sources stupid in your opinion?
Personally, "human bombs" don't scare me. And neither do terrorists. Not having a cold beer in my fridge does scare me though.
yes, any news outlet that runs with this as an actual story
So please rename the thread As if we need to be reminded of the stupidity of the Associated Press
I think the larger issue is that the majority of our news is based on sensationalism. Jon Stewart hit it right on the head in his interview with Chris Wallace. I just think that saying Fox is stupid and then posting this link is showing a smaller issue, a lot of people's hatred towards them, instead of the larger issue of the ineptitude of our news media.
...so I'll tell you.
This very real threat has been on US radar since early 2009 when Prince Muhammad bin Nayef was injured in an attack by a bomber w/ explosives up his ass. Sounds funny, right?- except it's true.

Doctors of Middle-Eastern descent, and trained in the UK, are returning to their countries of origin to implant explosives inside the body; namely breast implant bombs.

This is all in response to our implementation of the new TSA scanners, which was our response to the failed Xmas Day "underwear bomber". You see, the scanners can't see iside the body. It's a drug-smuggling technique borrowed for terror.
A quick search would have taught you something before you jumped up off the beanbag to "slam" Foxnews, and you could have saved yourself the embarrassment. You have revealed yourself to be completely uniformed on this subject, and frankly, I don't know how you recover from a blunder like this. I just don't.
I know the libs are more than a little jaded right now- you're boy Barack's started a war in Libya, we're still in Iraq, still in Afgahnistan, Wall Street loves him, Gitmo's still open, Patriot Act renewed, and more Americans are out of work now than when he took over- and that's after a trillion dollar "stimulus"
You probably feel like you took an Ambien and woke up in the backyard.
But posting pure, unadulterated ignorance, is not helping. If anything, it makes people like me, pity you more.
I say these things with utmost respect for you as a human being. It is your ideas that I find dumbing.
Here's some more links for you:

Barack isn't this liberals boy, because he isn't liberal. You support my position by the things you just listed.
do ya need a little cheese with that whine there buddy, is this for a high school current event story or something ? 99.9 % of the train hates Foxnews but you just seem to be bord so you started this ?...well it's cool bro you got my attention and I think I am the only FOXNEWS fan here  ...shit did I just say that out loud ?????
Godfather.
ok, let's step back and really think about this "threat" for a minute, shall we?
let us think about the logistics involved here.
you would need to have all of the following things go in your favor to successfully surgically implant a bomb into a human being.
first off you would have to have a surgeon that shares the same goals of terrorism as the groups that want the bombs inplanted. i am not saying that there aren't any, i am just saying that there probably aren't a whole lot of them who would publicly make their political sentiments known. it is easy to lose patients that way...people do not realize that it takes a team of people do put someone under, perform the procedure, and bring them back from anesthesia without killing the patient. it is a very delicate and very serious process. this is something that would have to be done by a surgeon, and i am not talking about some medical student or some resident somewhere, it would have to be someone with experience.
they would have to find a place to do the procedure. i doubt there is a "hospital of jihad" anywhere that would allow such questionable and unethical procedures to be done in their operating rooms. and this is something that can not be done in someone's apartment or house somewhere. too much risk of complications, infection, and or death. this surgeon would have to be skilled enough to find a body cavity large enough to accomodate such a device. for this example let's just say that the implantable bomb is the size of a human fist. i am not sure what materials that size would be strong enough to cause an explosion big enough to bring down a plane, but that is the size i will use for my example. you have to find a body cavity large enough to accomodate that object or else you will be removing organs that are too vital to the bomber's life so that he would most likely die before the bomb would blow up, unless they removed one kidney and put it there. and the kidney removal would have to be a separate surgical procedure and the person would have o recover from that before anything else happens surgically. you could not put it subcutaneously because it would bulge out too much and be obvious. it would probably be most efficient to just insert it into the anus rather than assume the risks of a botched surgery.
another consideration is that that device is a foreign object, and the body will attack it and reject it as such. it would have to be something completely sterile and the patient would have to be on antibiotics and anti-rejection medication afterward, which i doubt is just lying around somewhere. there is real potential for this patient to become sick and die within a few days of the surgery, so that makes this unfeasable. he may also bleed to death internally after surgery. how often are patients well enough to walk out of a hospital a day or two after being laid open like that? not many.
also, cost is a prohibitive factor. i am fairly certain that insurance companies would not cover "implantable device/bomb" as part of their reimbursement schedule. and doctors would need to be paid. the device would be ungodly expensive because they would have to invent one that would be sterile, durable enough for the person to walk around for days to weeks without it going off, and undetectable to the common person and the bomb sniffing dogs.. a total hip joint implantable device costs about $20,000, just to give you an idea of what something used in the OR everyday costs., and it would have to be something that would not set off the metal detectors and could not be connected to a triggering device.
all of the above factors make this story impossible for me to believe. this would be waaay too much trouble for those who want to do something like this. also, what suicide bomber is going to agree to go through the potentially 2 high risk surgeries, recover from that, and then carry out their duties? i think that going through all of this would make someone second guess their commitment to their duties.
so all things considered i am going to have to call shenanigans on this type of attack. it won't happen in the next 20 years, so no reason to freak out now.
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
fantastic post. one of the best i've ever seen on this site. pretty much explains why this story is a crock of shit. thanks dude.
Fair cop, in my rush to judgement I did not check all my facts.
It's ok brother, I am neither ashamed nor embarrassed, thanks for the rant though. For the record, I would not class myself Liberal or Conservative, I have issues on which I lean one way or the other, but if it is easy for you to pigeon hole the world into black and white terms then you go right ahead.
And if your pity towards me leads you to want to donate money then PM me and I can give you an address with which you can send money.
Shit. Even when you had your chance to roast me you come out with this incomprehensible waffle. Very little of what you say ever seems to make a blind bit of sense. Any way, until we meet again.
I just don't take much on the train serious anymore....what do you mean ?..it makes perfect sense.
Godfather.
i am sorry, a med student is not even allowed near a scalpel and live tissue on an operating table, so a medical student can not do this...
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
Don't play. You know he's centrist and you keep assuming there's big loyalty with him amongst liberals.
Case closed. Heading to show.
That amount of explosive could fuck shot up on a plane. You really think these fuckers can't get someone qualified to be a carrier of the bomb? You really think there are no "doctors" that will/can do this?
Where have you been if so?
how many women die on the operating table as a result of complications from them every year?
i work with surgeons, and not one of them would say breast implants are "easy" procedures.
you are right that in the sense that the implants are sterile, but nobody can make a sterile explosive device. the materials in the device are toxic and would kill whoever they are implanted in.
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
a) sensationalism
b) keeping people hooked on the "news" so their sponsers can sell you more crap
c) keeping you in a state of hightened anxiety or fear or
d) to distract your attention from things that are really more relevant and pressing... you know- wars, poverty, climate change, etc.
Doesn't it make more sense to do what you can to make a positive difference in the world and stop waiting for someone of a different religion or color or persuasion or background to blow you up... or for the sky to fall? Let's get real. You can do a lot of good in this world. Let's stop wasting our energy on fear and do something that makes a positive difference.

Amen, and well said.
It already happened. You're both wrong. If Gimme wasn't afraid to read my posts anymore, he would have read my post above and been enlightened.
Follow the light, Gimme....
Haha. I have no doubt that you are a recipient of my tax dollars already.
