I've checked out all the bands I've wanted to, but you should definitely check out The Traveling Wilbury's first. It's the greatest supergroup of all-time.
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

I think it's great to look up old or new bands just for the fun of it. So then you music selection doesn't get too boring. But I will check them out soon!

I urge everybody to check out new bands as much as possible. I had 2 huge phases of loving Led Zeppelin and PJ, and maybe it took that for me to get into all these other bands, but there's really just so much music out there to enjoy I feel like I may have missed some valuable time with some music that really deserves it.

Recently been having my ass kicked by The Band and Wilco.

Dunno what the hell I was waitin for with The Band. They're just immense.

I've slowly but surely been gettin into Wilco over the last year. My wife got me broke in the (The Album) and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot just really hit the right nerve the other day, along with Ashes of American Flags film. Both just were really bangin on the door of my soul.

To the OP: If I was to pick one band off your list I'd say MMJ. Don't worry about the back catalog yet, just go pick up Circuital. I've always tried to get into new bands by goin with their current album. Zeppelin was my first love and my first album by them was BBC Sessions, when I got into PJ I had maybe 1 or 2 albums but picked up Binaural and it just grew from there.

Wow, late 90s swing era! I was really into that at the time. I still listen to these albums occasionally.

  • Wilco

    Fleet Foxes

    My Morning Jacket

Queens of the Stone Age - I can't believe the amount of people here who dont know them or dont like them, or just wont give them a chance. Stone Gossard's record label Loose Groove produced their first album. Matt Cameron and Dave Grohl have played drums for them at some point. They are so fucking awesome live I cant believe the amount of people going to PJ20 who arent going to watch them. It saddens me really.

LCD Soundsystem - sad it took me so long to get into them. and now they are no more

There are plenty more I am sure that I am missing.

One of the ones I forgot...

Another good one to check out:
    The Walkmen
(My only hang up about this band is the lead singer's tendency to sound like Rod Stewart sometimes...who I despise  ) But the band is pretty good...and the drummer is nasty.
