  • I was looking for this too

    On giventowail
they have the chords and they seem to fit pretty well, and then you have to add little bits here and there like an extra strum or maybe one less strum

it's just the chorus-type part that I can't get down because the chords on giventowail don't match this acoustic version

  • I"ve been looking for this as well. The chorus, wherever I find it, giventowail, tab911 etc, doesn't seem right at all. The into and verse sounds spot on but the chorus on the acoustic version, must be different. Anyone?

I do not have a guitar on me at the moment, but from looking at the tab on GTW, the chords appear to be:

    Intro/Verse: D5 - F5 - C/Csus4 - D5

    PreChorus: Cadd9, G, G5, Gm, A7sus (an A minor 7th with a sus4), A7, D5

    Chorus: D5, D#5, F5, D#5, D5

    ends with G5, F5, A5, G5

Just by looking at it, I would experiment playing this on acoustic in double drop D (D, A, D, G, B, D)...might sound pretty cool

It can be kinda tricky reading the timing on that tab for that part. You have to really hang on the F chord.

I realize this thread is old, but just stumbled upon this and wanted to share what I have for the chorus since I don't see anything anywhere for it. I think it's pretty accurate and if you have an adjustments, please let me know. Everything else is pretty much the same with it playing more open since it's in a double drop D (D A D G B D). Not sure of the names of the chords.

    Chorus
    D Eb/Bb F/C F Eb/F Eb Eb D
    0 | 3 | 5 | 3 | X | X | X | 0
    3 | 3 | 5 | 6 | 6 | 4 | 4 | 3
    2 | 3 | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0
    0 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 4
    0 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 6 | 6 | 6 | 5
    0 | 1 | 3 | 3 | X | X | X | 0

Towards the end when Ed repeats "Held On" over and over played on the three lowest strings

    F/D F G/A G
    5 | 3 | 7 | 5
    5 | 3 | 7 | 5
    3 | 3 | 5 | 5
