hey vital, was pj the opening band at the gorge in 93? was that a neil young show? just wondering. thanks!
Yes it was a Neil Young show, but Blind Melon was the opener, then PJ, then NY. There was an epic human stampede from the sky bluff bleachers down the rock/tall grass hillside to the fenced off reserved section. I had lost my original tickets so had to buy scalper tix at the venue and ended up on the bleachers. We were at the very top row on the very far edge opposite that stampede and I can still remember watching as all of these people took off and before you know it 1/2 of the bleachers were empty and about a dozen security guards were trying to stop a few hundred people. When they reached the fence ( about a 10ft high chain link fence), they took it down - pure mayhem. We just watched it all unfold from above. Classic.
Ive just been whacking some Pearl Jam on to my friends iPod, shes doesnt really know much stuff apart from daughter and better man so im giving her a bit of a lesson in music here!!!
As I was choosing songs I thought about my first ever Pearl Jam show and the anticipation of it.
Theres so many fans on here that started out at so many different points in the bands carreer so.....
What was the opening song at your first Pearl Jam show? Mine was....Sometimes Dublin 2000.
