Magic Hat #9 and Eddie

I'm sure there has probably been a posting about this before, but I thought I'd write this anyway. Yesterday, I popped open a bottle of Magic Hat #9 beer. If you ever look at the underside of Magic Hat bottlecaps, there is always a little catchy rhyming phrase. There are literally thousands of these phrases, and I had never read ANY of them until yesterday. Then yesterday I decide for the first time to actually read the bottlecap and it states "What could be Better than a beer with Eddie Vedder." I nearly flipped out. I kept the cap and if I ever have the chance to meet Ed, I'll give it to him.

One of my buddy's friends got this cap once. He saved it for many years. At the start of school this past year, he gave me the cap. I keep it in my backpack at all times.

It is one of the many reasons why I love Magic Hat and #9 so much.

I got the Ed cap about a year ago, thought it was an omen....lol

Last week I got one that said - If Jerry(Garcia) was here, I'd buy him a beer.

Guess the makers at Magic Hat like good music. Btw I think they sponsored the recent Beacon show cuz there was 'free' Majic Hat at the open bar all night.

back in college, a friend got that cap and i grabbed it from him... that was about 11 years ago and i still have it.

if i remember correctly (i'll check later), they spelled Vedder with tt's instead of dd's

I have had both versions of the cap (with tt's and dd's). The one with the tt's was from 11 or 12 years ago and the dd's was more recent. I no longer have the one with the tt's because I tried to give it to Eddie when I was front row at a show in Montreal, but security knocked it out of my hand and it was never seen again.

Awesome, I've gotten this too but it was probably my 15th beer of the day so it's a very hazy memory... I put the cap in my pocket but the next morning it was gone.

I love this bottlecap! Makes me smile whenever I look at mine. Makes me hopeful that one day me and Ed will have a beer--maybe in Hawaii.

I got one a few days after this last VB show, while I was hanging out with the friend I attended the show with. Brought the show glow right back to us.

I love the Summer Variety Show 12-pack with #9, Circus Boy (hefeweizen with lemongrass), Odd Notion, and Hocus Pocus. I much prefer Belgian style beer to the hoppy stuff.

I work for a beer distributor that started carrying Magic Hat products this summer. When I go in tomorrow I'm going to open up all of the bottles of #9 until I find that cap. We've got around 80 cases of the stuff. 24 bottles per case x 80 cases = 1920 bottles. What are the odds? If I can't find it there I'll start bustin open the sampler packs.

Magic hat #9 is fairly common where I live in NY. I'm a fan.

If you like #9, some other fruit-flavored beers I recommend are Bluepoint Blueberry, Abita Purple Haze, and Hoegaarden with a slice of lemon. Yum.

LukinFan, did you search on their website or something? I would recommend that instead you try beeradvocate.com and find a beer specialty store near you. Most beer stores I go to have Magic Hat, all the Dogfish Head and Bell's plus their limited editions, etc. My grocery store (Kroger which is Ralphs in a lot of the country) carries #9 and the seasonals, as well as Blue Moon and their seasonals (which previously I had only seen on tap at the Coors Brewery).
