After capping their first year together by playing a set at the 2010 Layne Staley Tribute & Benefit concert, the Seattle vets teaming up as Villains of Yesterday were booked into Brent Clawson's studio in Garden Grove, CA. The first round of sessions produced 3 songs, one of which generated immediate airplay. The boys made their way back to Cali to complete their full-length, which was released May 24. After playing to a sold out Viper Room in LA this month, some big hands came knocking on their door and put them back into the studio to begin their follow-up.
Their debut album is limited to 1,000 units and has been going fast! Definitely worth a listen, if not a purchase. Check out the entire album for free at http://villainsofyesterday.com/music.aspx. I'm really digging the songs Helpless Seductive, Sliding, Zero in the Sun, Walls, Bear and Shoulder, Under the Gun, and Saturdays. And check out their video, "Walls," which was shot by Jamie Chamberlain, who just handled filming for Duff McKagan's Loaded: http://youtu.be/J5lGn8X3PO8.
