Hi all

My twin brothers are turning 13 next week and I have no clue what to get them. They are both into reading, video games and .... I don't know what else. I am budgeting $50 each. Any help would be great.

And before certain people suggest porn, they are my brothers so that is just wrong!!!!

Gift cards to Gamestop or something like that would be good
If I knew where it was, I would take you there. There's not much more than this (Live at Garden)

    BUMP

Any other suggestions???? I always give them gift cards or money, it would be nice to actually give them something...I was thinking I could start them a music collection.

  • You could get them a game and a book - the sort they'd like.

I used to do these "colour themed" gifts - Give someone a gift bag full of lots of different things - scarves, jewellery, candles, and others like books, - with a colour theme so all the stuff is the same colour. But that really only works for girls....hmmmm

Music is cool - you could get them a handpicked selection of what YOU like and what you think they'd like too, do it with books as well or movies. It's more personal that way too, than giftcards and money. But giftcards and money is more practical so....

Clothes? If they like easy stuff to buy like hoodies and jumpers - favourite band? You could get them some merch from their favourite band? Favourite colour to wear?

Try and talk to them, see what they are hoping for, what they'd like without directly asking them so as to make it a suprise.
Don't know what else to suggest, since I don't know them  Hope this helps though

That helped a lot thanks! I find them hard to buy for because they are so different to me at that age - I was already hard core into music by then. I like the colour themed thing though their favourite colours are blue and green so that could be a go.

    Thanks again :)

I'm probably too late with this.

My son's 14 and to be honest he would probably just want the money, then he go can go shopping with his friends and buy some ridiculously overpriced item. Hollister is a very popular brand with him and his friends at the mo.

Sorry I'm late and that's probable no help at all

how about just take them somewhere fun and just hang out with them. maybe a ball game, arcade like a Dave and Busters if you have them near you, wave runners on a lake, etc. i am the youngest in my family and it was always fun and exciting being included in something or doing something with my older brothers and sisters. lots of times at that age or so you don't think your older siblings want to hang out, so just hanging out doing something fun might be something they really like and remember.

i never buy kids jersey's so i don't know how expensive they are but their favorite football or baseball or basketball or hockey or socer etc players jersey maybe? With kids size it might be around 50? :? adults are 80-90

Or if the jersey's are too expensive they always make t shrits with the players number on the back and their name and the team logo on the front. you could get the t shirts for like25 bucks each and give them a itunes gift card for 25 to go along with it

Thanks everyone for the ideas. Their birthday is tomorrow but I won't be seeing them till later in the week. The gig idea is great but unfortunately we live in small town NZ where there are NEVER any all ages concerts. Sports related jerseys etc would be wasted on them as they aren't interested in any!

So far I am making them a mixed CD (each different so they can share) and a book voucher, beanie. I'll go shopping later and see what else I can find.

  • My oldest will be 13 next month. He is into reading and video games as well. He loves the Lightning Thief series, 39 clues series and a book called Lost and another called Found. Good luck.
