Are the Eddie shows really worth it?

I will be in Minneapolis this weekend for a Black Keys concert, and I am contemplating buying tickets for Eddie's show in Minneapolis this weekend, but I'm wondering if the show would be worth the steep asking price from Stubhub. Does he have a backing band at all? I've seen the setlists, and I like what I see, but I don't know anything about the shows themselves. How have they been received? Is it literally just him and a uke?

it all depends what your into .

If your the person that likes watching Mike go wild . and stone keeping his back to the crowed the whole show !! then i would say the ED shows are not worth it .

if your more of an EV fan . then it is a must check out !! its 100% Eddie Vedder

I like them cause of the smaller venues and some of them are just amazing .

it s a totally different experience as compared to pearl jam. you should definitely check it out; it really is awesome. to hear some pj songs completely stripped down with just an acoustic and ed's voice is amazing. you won't be sorry!

Go! The Orpheum is a great venue. I had the pleasure of seeing Primus there last October. It seems a great fit for Eddie.

Nope. He plays other instruments as well -- harmonica, guitar, mandolin...

Absolutely worth it but I'm not sure I would pay scalper/stubhub prices -- I generally don't go to concerts if I have to pay more than face.

What makes them so worth it is it's much more intimate and Ed talks a lot more than at Pearl Jam shows. It's almost like your own version of Storytellers which is very very cool. Very few people can pull off a solo show, but Ed's the best. I saw Chris Cornell on his songbook tour, he was good but nothing compared to Ed. If you find a decent-priced ticket, I would absolutely recommend that you go.

Sorry about that. It was a mention out of necessity, not admiration, that's for sure. I missed out on the pre-sale and public sale, so I have been forced to look at other avenues. It will never happen again, I promise (the mention, and missing out on the pre-sale).

Go experience it. The shows are wonderful. Inspiring. Glen Hansard has been the show opener. Check him out too. Both are great performers and storytellers. I truly doubt you will be disappointed.

Not only is Eddie THE best singer in the world ~ I never realized till I went to the show, how talented a guitarist/uke player he is ~ truly amazing!

I'd give anything to see him again! :D So, don't think twice, go and you'll have a wonderful time! :D

BTW, Glen Hansard is an Academy Award-winning songwriter. Need I say more(?) :)

I have to echo the words of pinkbutterfly-Eddie is definitely the best singer in the world! I knew that before I attended the Philly concert on Saturday, but hearing him in a small, intimate setting just blew me away! There were several times throughout the evening that I was so moved by his singing that I had tears in my eyes. And believe me, that has rarely happened when I have attended concerts by other artists.

So go, go, go see him-you will have the time of your life, and you'll never regret it! :D

Couldn't urge you to go more! His voice has been spot on, the set lists have been spot on, beautiful venues, and an all-around great time. He makes you laugh, smile, tear--everything! Really awesome experience. Totally different beast than a Pearl Jam show, but incredible in it's own special way!
