so what say you? If you were in a situation where you somehow lost all your PJ music. where would you start (includes anything from studio albums, live bootlegs, even a song you would "need"; whatever)

right now , how would you rebuild your collection ....

    1. Avocado
    2. Yield
    3. Ten
    4. Vs.
    5. No Code

Not necessarily the order of my favorite PJ albums, just the order I feel I'd need to replace them (if that makes sense).

That happened to me back in 2001. When I asked for them back she told me that she had threw them all in the bin so I took her to Civil Court and won :)
I bought them all back in one hit thanks to the money she (reluctantly) 'gave' me :D

I think I'd have to start with my favorite boots & concerts I've been to. I'd replace the studio albums of course, but those aren't what I listen to most. :)

If I had to rebuild my PJ collection, I would probably start back at the beginning and by the studio albums in chronologic order. Then get the singles that I have. Finally, the bootlegs and any demo stuff that I would have to trade or do B&P for...
  • heh, dirty secret. i havent had Ten thru Riot Act in a long time. CD's always get scratched, lost, or stolen. so now i just got them on my computer or burned copies. I'm not a real big collector (except for the actual songs of course).

I might cry if i lost my rare/live mp3s, though.

Luckily i'm in a financial situation right now where I could afford to buy all the albums back if I had to and all of my bootlegs are in digital format and backed up immensely.

But if some fucker stole all my posters I would flip my shit.
  • I would agree with Urban Hippie. I would replace all the studio albums except for Avocado. If I lost my DVD's they would probaly be replaced before my cd's.

    Haha awesome.

Yeah I would just freak the hell out. It would be so hard to replace vinyl/boots/posters. I might just move on to another band... Ok probably not, but I would hole up for a week or more. After regaining well being I would go get all the studio releases on cd at least, and then I'm not really sure...

    never happen
all my PJ (and all my music and video) is backed up on a portable external hard drive in a fire proof safe at work
    overkill? perhaps.

I update it monthy to include picutres/videos of my kids, new music, important documents...

and I have a rider on my homeowners insurance that covers my cd collection and my posters

Im covered and suggest others do the same.

Of course Im debating whether I need a back up of my back up

    ;)

your not really getting the whole "thought experiment" point of this. don't take the scenario so literally. say you were stuck somewhere with absolutely nothing ,without any c.d.s and someone was kind enough to go get 3 of them for you......"well i wouldnt have cd player would i DRRRRRRRR" ok you have a cd player "well where am i going to plug it in retard ,DRRRRRRRR"
