(update: Please include why)
Mine:
Hands down, Mansfield MA (nights 1,2 & 3) 7/2/03, 7/3/03 & 7/11/03.
This is when they played every song in their repertoire (at the time), including an acoustic opening set on night 3 that rivals Benaroya.

7.5 hours Total play-time (no repeated songs).

Even though this is my home venue, I missed all 3 nights :(

Non-home bootleg favorite (I'm listening now):

Dublin, Ireland 6/22/10...

AWESOME!
Plus it has the very first performance (I think) of "Of the Earth"...

Easy. That first bridge benefit show, with walking the cow, cordoroy, and footsteps.

Aside from that, they ALWAYS kill in atlanta. Not sure why, but those boots are always a good bet.

I think we can all guess this alpine valley show will be sick. I cant nearly afford to go from denver, but i shall see them in the spring, on the next tour. Have seen em almost ten times, always amazing.

First time i saw them, i didnt even know who they were. They opened for nirvana and the chilis... That show converted me.

    Benaroya. Hands down.

Listen to that version of Black and tell me otherwise.

For me its just one of those that I love and don't necessarily know exactly why.
I think its largely the setlist. From what I know (which honestly isn't THAT much) its not really a typical setlist, and the band is really firing on all cylinders. By far my favorite versions or In My Tree, Grievance, and Present Tense that I've ever heard. One of my favorite Betterman, and Breakerfall Mike solos as well as Nothing As It Seems. I'm also a sucker for Off He Goes in general (I have yet to see one sadly) Plus, the setlist has Whipping, Black Circle, both Leather and Nothingmans. Just a fun show in general. Definitely worth a listen

Reason: If you don't already know, you have to check it out. If I were going to go back to the old days, this is THE show I would be at!

Sidenote about shows I wasn't at but love...

I'm listening to the Euro 2000 tour day by day at work right now. Listened to the Cardiff show, 2000-06-06, today. It's totally smokin'. Interesting setlist order compared to the previous shows of the tour.

    Check it out!

    Cheers!

I would second Atlanta. Fox Theater, April 3, 1994.

For a long time, I felt as though I did attend this show.

I recorded the broadcast off the mighty WBCN as it happened. Those 2 tapes are among my most prized possessions, like if my house was on fire, they'd be on my short list of shit to grab. It felt pretty good to hand copies out to 4 total strangers (on black CD's of course) at the EV show in Providence. I will do the same at every other PJ show I attend, so keep your eyes open.

The ambiance alone is redonkulous, saying absolutley nothing about the "as though you're there" ANALOG sound. The energy is off the charts and Whipping totally kills.

Gorge '05 for me...(though I listen to all 3 Gorge Shows equally)
The Setlist is AMAZING...any show with LBC & Crown of Thorns makes it an EPIC IMO...
I saw several Pearl Jam shows in Seattle,
but The Gorge is one of the most BEAUTIFUL Venues in the WORLD!!!
I got to see DMB here several times, but left Seattle in 2000,
before PJ played there for the first time in '05. :ugeek:

  • Chicago 7-11-95. I can't believe more haven't said this one. Amazing set, high energy, Ticketmaster rant, night after a Dead show that Ed references...truly amazing. Has always been my favorite.

I am also a fan of "23" 26 6 2000 Sporthall Hamburg Germany. Perfect sound, (to my ear) and the perfect amount of Binaural in a setlist, plus great guitar in Smile...

I have not heard many bootlegs but out of all the ones I have (about eight), my favorite is this past Bridge School because new life was breathed into Betterman and Black....my new favorite versions of these songs. I find I don't listen to the original versions of them as much now. I happen to love acoustic as you can really hear Ed's voice and the beautiful way the instruments are played too.

Would love to hear an early version of In My Tree...any advice for a good year/venue for that????
