    I think the only thing Obama has to do with peak oil is that the fact that he's done the same thing every politician from one end of the spectrum to the other has done: ignored it. The problem will not just go away.

    here is a new idea; peak oil is a GOOD thing.

    Why? Because the ONLY way we (western civilization) will change our behavior is if there are no alternatives. We won't try to develop new energy infrastructure until there is no other way around getting our American Idol, processed beef and cheese, or our authentic hand-made Chinese goods.

    So, the faster peak oil shows its face, the faster we can evolve as a society so that "progress" is no longer defined as having every season of Dancing with the Stars on DVR.
    Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.
