When you've got nothing
You've nothing at all
Nothing in my pockets
Nothing up my sleeve
Not enough freedom
To buy my mother a birthday present
She came to visit me
and I wrote her a card from my
tattered, grubby possessions
Wrote something desperate and confused
Confused and desperate love
I felt ashamed, all I had to offer
But she has the card still
today, sitting with care
on her mantelpiece
I love your mother! I love your love for your Mother!
This is living!
I've saved this one to read often, the simple appreciation between mother and child,
magnificently stated here0 -

She set out to prove to me
That a man was nothing less
That no man was anything else
Than the man who turned her life inside out
And I set out to prove her wrong.
Endless endless heart tearing nights
So many dark nights where they should have just set us both alight
Until eventually I won, the argument
Endless heart tearing nights, where I proved to her
That some men would rather lose their mindCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

Thanks Dang Dang. And thanks to each of you who have contributed to this thread, and your encouragement, and to each of you who has offered me so much support and encouragement in all the 'poetic' writing I have done here this past year, many many kind people, every single one of whom I have come to value immensely - so many great writers, and kind and generous spirits.
With that, I think this collection is now finished - it has been one of the most demanding of the collections I have written here, but also one of the most helpful to get out of my head. I have a feeling I may give this type of writing a little rest for a while - but you never know. The process is very constructive overall I find.
Many thanks and good vibes going out from me to all of you here.Cancel my subscription to the Ressurection
